Sooo just did a head gasket job, took the whole intake manifold out, unhooked unplugged everything. I was counting on help from a more experienced mechanic who bailed, now im putting everything back together and trying to figure out where it all goes.

Anybody have detailed photos or diagrams? Its been difficult to find anything helpful on the internet. I think ive got some stuff in the right place, but the diagnostic box doesnt quite reach where its supposed to go etc. Something is funky and there are errant plugs and brackets all over.

    Any and all help appreciated

There should be a vacuum diagram on the underside of the hood.

one plug sits on top of the plenum and under the intake a solenoid
like inside the 'tunnel' space closer to the rear

At the top of the first gen forum is a section for pinned threads- one of those threads is a Factory Service Manual (FSM) thread. I highly suggest you head on over there- towards the tail of it, should be a few links to download a zip file with the FSM in it. You may or may not be able to find the exact year in that thread, i'm not sure... but an FSM for the 2.7 from 2003 probably isn't far off..

    Hmmmmm

    that’s a pretty fuckin thick washer/spacer
    Beefy
Most all fuel washers are thin copper

    after looking at mine
I’m going to guess the belt adjuster spacer for the power steering idler pulley
    Like directly under valve cover
    2nd highest pulley
The highest is the p/s pump pulley

Thank you so so much. I tried it there, it pushed the pulley out too much, and there was already a washer there. Maybe its extra..i dont know.

One more question. I just found these in the debris under my truck. I have never seen them before, nearly everything is put back together, and i have no idea what they are. It looks like the ends spin in something maybe, i dont even know if they are from my truck. There is no where for anything to fall out from anymore, and i have never seen them in the dirt before. It possible i missed them, but ive been down there pretty intensely for days. Help.
