Won't a stock gas TRD Tundra eat the Tacoma Pro's luch in a drag race and still have enough torque to pull further away from the Pro once it tops out? I know the Pro is a complete package with suspension and everything else Toyota includes, and not much of a comparison.

Probably?? Didn't really buy it for that--I drive my car when I need a speed fix. The Tacoma hybrid has zero issue getting up and moving tho. I had a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon diesel before the Tacoma. Comparing those two is night vs day. The Tacoma is better in every respect. It can travel down the interstate without an issue at 80mph, yet soak up bumps on bad roads without a problem too. I don't have any regrets on the extra spend that it took to get the Pro model. It's a unique truck........

Tacoma Pro has the same HP/torque specs as the Trailhunter, as well as the hybrid Off-Road and Sport trims. And yes, the non-hybrid Tundra's V6 has a little more HP and torque.

If your goal is drag racing though, I might suggest something other than a pickup truck?

Huh?? The pro seats recline quite a bit despite the iso hardware. It is just a manual recline rather than power. I don't mind it at all--rarely used and recline is much quicker doing it manually......

He also did one on the SR5 Access cab which he loved. Couldn't say enough good things about it. Even thought the all plastic interior was OK for that truck. Just hated the ridiculous front air dam. Then on the Pro review he trashed it for the plastic interior and the price. I think his point was that for a truck that cost that much they should have made it much more luxurious.

They absolutely recline. It just has a lever for it instead of power.

There is less than an inch difference between an iso seat and a regular seat. I have my seat about 1” from all the way back. If I had a TH or OR, it would still be 1” from all the way back. No one is going to comfortably fit back there in any model.
If I was 5’7” and I had the seat forward several inches, someone might fit in the back and that extra 1/2” and/or not having hard plastic next to your knees might make a difference. For me, there is no loss in rear seat functionality.

I'm 5'7" and if the front seat of my TRD OR is set for me, when I get in the back seat I have several inches between my knees and the back of the front seat(I'm happy to take a measurement). All of the controversy of this caused me to get in the back seat a few days ago. I was pleasantly surprised. Regardless, most folks do buy these trucks if they need a full size back seat.

In the end, we all have 4th gen Tacos and most of us like/love them. We have all chosen the one that fits our want/needs. I have an appreciation for them all but agree that the TH and Pro get the extra attention due to being "special".

It's worth noting that "E" means there is 2-3 gallons left, not "Empty". The tank seems tiny because the light is turning on sooner than previous truck.... yes the tank is smaller but we should get close to the same distance per tank and my very first tank of gas supports this.

I did my very first fill up today at 337 miles in my new '25 TRD OR non-hybrid truck. Truck is bone stock and calculated 19.6 mpg. I put in 16.3gal which yielded an actual 20.3 mpg. Not bad for the first tank of gas.

It's worth noting that my '23 TRD OR averaged 320-330 miles per tank and averaged 18.5-19mpg(very first tank averaged 17.4mpg). I have 2.5 years worth of gas logs.

I look forward to running circles around the 3rd gen mpg.... all while driving up hills with no downshifting. ;) 3rd Gen Taco is a great truck... but I'm really appreciating some things about the 4th gen.

I just think the Tacoma Pro should get the GX engine. Tundra Pro still gets the hybrid assist and makes more power. Other than cost I don't see the down side.

I doubt if the AC consumes much fuel but if it cycles on and off as much as people say it's not saving any fuel.

It's a combination of paint quality decreasing and road quality decreasing creating more road debris.
