What sort of gin joint you running over there? :cookiemonster:
    I prefer earplugs.
Listening to the sounds the press makes help troubleshoot when sounds change.
I.E. Cam followers :D. Bearings. Loose Blankets. Air and Vacuum. Motor speeds.....

How are you suppose to listen for that with Hall and Oates blaring in your ear.

Believe it or not I don’t even have bluetooth earbuds or headsets. Does the noise cancelling work as good as ear plugs with yard equipment and grinders and such?

I bought some noise canceling ear buds last summer as an alternative to murdering the drywall crew on a particular job. The noise canceling is extremely impressive! Money well spent!

I have heard a few people say that they thought Spotify was the best streaming service. I've never tried it myself. I've been pretty happy with Amazon, although it's not perfect.

I decided on a temporary solution to my tire situation. Seeing as I had a good tire on a damaged wheel as a spare, and a bulgy tire on a good wheel, I took them to the local tire guy and asked him to dismount both tires and put the good tire on the good wheel. I'll use one of the winter tires as a spare until I figure out what the next move is. I know it's not ideal having a mismatched spare, but I can always put it on the front.

Also noticed something interesting when I was looking at the damaged tire. The wheel also has a scrape on it right where the bulge occurred. I'm wondering if there was some sort of impact that eventually led to the separation of that sidewall.

It is quite possible I am doing this wrong. This unit will direct Spotify or what ever other platform I choose to use into my existing pre amp or my headphone amp and allow access to my music library there. For under 1k which is amazing for anything stereo in my world.

FINALLY took my spare in and got it cleaned, remounted and rebalanced from the knockoff in Kentucky. My lift for the spare works fantastic! Now to find time to change that left rear axle seal...

Unless Apple music has had a major overhaul in the last few years, it is one of my worst experiences ever.

I have an Apple TV box connected to my preamp through an optical cable. I just play glorious Butthole Surfers right from my phone to my very loud and clear B&W 803 speakers.
Well, only when May isn’t home. She hates loud music. :annoyed:

So you and I are the rare kind of press operators that can hear trouble before it actually causes an issue! Awesome!
That being said, I don’t run press anymore, so noise cancellation is fine. Actually I need it more for when the folder is running.

    We're both rare.....

I don't have a choice in the matter. Earbuds are forbidden at work. Mainly for that reason.
For the longest time we couldn't have radios either. ( I still don't unless I'm doing maintenance. )

Support the artists, not the platforms:

Not only does Tidal pay artists better, the audio quality is noticeably better than most other services. Apple Music is up there in that category as well, but I don't have Apple products. I've used Pandora, Google Music, YouTube Music and SoundCloud. My wife still uses Pandora and my daughter and I make fun of her for it. It's just terrible. (Sorry @sparkystaco.) Sound quality is poor and their algorithm is a joke. She put on some pop artist channel a few days ago and we had Christmas music playing in the kitchen. We had a good laugh.

No apologies needed Dean, I'd never heard of these others, only pandora & spotify.
I will check out tidal as you say they are better.

PS. spotify suks, hard to navigate & bad sound quality.

My only gripe with Spotify is that it takes a while sometimes to register that I am in fact online.

Could also be that I'm still on a Pixel 6 Pro.....and in an old garage at the farthest point of my mesh network.

Also their queue system for podcasts could use a lot of work.

You have to sit there and dick around with the exact sequence or it's going to automatically start playing any episodes you haven't listened to.

Even then the ads can throw a wrench in it and start the next episode instead of continuing the one you're on.

But at this point I'm paying for the family plan for me,the wife, and my in-laws.

It would be a nightmare getting them used to a new streaming service now that they finally got a hang of Spotify.
