It varies. Usually starts with itchy, watery eyes. Sometimes it goes to an itchy throat, and almost always non stop sneezing

Fixed my bar mount and noticed my hand guard bolts were loose. Sigh, the bolt was being held in from pressure from the guard. The nut insert fell into the bar and the previous owner just gave up. The opposite side all good, I loctited every fastener.

Now I gotta decide on a solution. Maybe I'll pop by a moto shop for oil and see if they have any nuts.

Expanding nuts? Tapping the bars is the 100% better way

Nothing there, its hollow and the other side had the expanding nut. If I was better at welding I'd just weld a nut in there. Might actually come down to that.

Edit, I removed the bar, I can hear it, I'll used compressed air and a magnet tomorrow, a bit late for the compressor and air.

If that bike was built by the guys from Team Elves then that bike has some history. One of the guys that started that was a fellow named Aaron Wilson out of Colorado who was a Buell nut. He learned the land speed record for a pushrod twin was held by a Moto Guzzi and he wanted to have it held by an American bike. He purchased a Buell RR1000 Battletwin that originally was owned by the Harley dealer that I worked for. Somehow Aaron managed to get his hands on the original molds for the bodywork for the RR1000 and had new fiberglass bodywork made then bought a XR1000 Sportster for the motor so if he grenaded it the original numbers matching motor and bodywork would still be intact. Team Elves ran a couple of Buells at Bonneville for a few years capturing the record and moving it up to over 200 mph with the RR1000.

I know this because I was one of the Buell nuts that donated money and bought a t-shirt to help finance the project.

I take A LOT of natural supplements and I have suffered significant allergies for decades. I tried honey but it didn't seem to work for me, but it has other benefits so I still use it. Things I have used and noticed a difference: garlic (deodorized caps), quercetin, saline spray (easy to carry in a tail or tank bag), and rinsing my eyes with mild soap. This year, I noticed "pollen streams" while riding, i.e. zero symptoms and suddenly my eyes, nose, and throat become highly irritated for literally 30 seconds or less, and then dissipate completely as I keep riding.

    Some other possible help/remedies: https://www.healthpub.com/posts/natural-allergy-remedies

Gfs first time riding her bike into work. Followed her as she went so she would be a bit more comfortable.

I had a feeling you were going to know something about it, but didn't realize it'd be that much! He says in the ad he's had it for 20 years, so that'd be 1999, timelines could line up for either first or second owner..

Edit: did some digging around and seems most of their bonneville speed record antiscs were around the 2002-2006ish time frame, so that very well could be Aaron's bike. Pics on all the old forums have disappeared, but the descriptions line up. Really cool piece of niche history. Tempted to shoot him an email and verify if it was that bike or not.

I still have my Team Elves shirt and wear it once in a great while. The RR1000 Battletwin used to sit in front of my bosses office at the dealership. 1987, was the last of the 50 or 52 bikes built. Had 186 miles on it. He also had a 1991 RS1200 Westwind that was 1 of 117 and only had about 1,100 miles on it. I can honestly say almost 100 of those miles were mine.

I think Harley really screwed over Erik Buell and Buell owners. Much as I like most of what Erik did he's a far better engineer than a businessman. He's a pretty fair guitar player by the way and has recorded and released a couple of CDs.

How have I never heard of this stuff before? This looks awesome and is fairly cheap as well. Thanks!!

It will make mounting my table and cot to the side of the van so much easier.

ya his setup was nice he has it where it grabs to his dirtbike foot pegs. maaan is it so easy to strap bikes down that way and they dont seem to move at all really with that and the wheel chocks.

his setup is kinda like this.

That's a super convenient setup! TBH I really like the PitBull TRS, even though it's pretty pricey (~$400). It's super easy to use and it doesn't load the suspension at all so I can keep the bike in the van unless I'm riding or working on it.
