You can always fab a frame to exist above the wheel wells. That'll be quite a hike to get it in the bed though... Just get a trailer

If you have a hitch and light connector a trip to the local U-haul trailer rental is the least work.

As long as what you are renting is coming back to the same place the prices aren't bad.

Trailer. It's enough of a pain loading an ATV in a truck bed. I'd use my trailer. And if I didn't have one, I'd find one. The low deck height makes all the difference in the world.

Use a tape measure instead of guessing.

If this is a one time thing, then agreed on the uhaul trailer (or have it delivered).

If it does fit, and you're planning to move it around in the future, some ramp adapters and 2x8's can be extremely handy. I think I still have some kicking around, and I don't even own the truck anymore.

Or if you're made of money, there are plenty of aluminum folding ramps to choose from. I just keep coming back to the wooden ones, though.

Another vote for a U Haul trailer if the truck has a hitch.

THIS, 100% The low deck height/poor breakover angle can be a huge issue. Also not having long enough ramps, therefore too steep, can end up with a rollover since most mowers are geared so low.

Most mowers have too questionable of low end grunt to safely walk up a tailgate ramp.

When I downsized from a F150 to a Tacoma in 2007 the 1st thing I did was buy a 6X10 utility trailer. At the time just over $1000, but it was the best thing I ever did. I'm back in a F150 as my primary truck and use the Tacoma as a 3rd vehicle now. But if I need to haul anything of any size or weight the trailer is by far the best way. Even when driving the bigger truck.

I burn a lot of firewood and can haul more weight in the trailer than I could put in the 8' bed of a 3/4 ton truck and even the Tacoma pulls that weight easily. Thats triple the weight I could put in my Tacoma's bed and double what my F150 will handle. The trailer sits lower and has a ramp making loading and unloading much easier. Plus I don't beat up the bed.

If you have a tractor supply near you they rent trailers for 15$ per day.

Even with a full size truck with an 8' box it is both a pain & a hazard to put a mower in the bed.

Scrubbed some tires, and knocked a dent out.
I'd just ask my neighbor to borrow his trailer.
I'm very appreciative of my neighbor!

Have it delivered. It wasn't that expensive. The county picked up the old tractor.
