Yea, it was VERY hot… but that’s a given end of May to middle of September. My A/C is set 71 for that reason. Ceramic tint all around.

Story time….

One of my first loves in our First Dates period invited me and my good friend at the time to a house party/dad’s out of town/whatever. The intention was after everyone was gone, we’d spent he night. My friend was my driver with his hoopdie (some 70s GM land barge/chick magnet - Grand Prix?) and promptly got shitfaced and offered to drive a gaggle of girls to take a drive somewhere, smoke some pot and return later. I refused his keys unless someone else was driving. Sure enough, a girl volunteered and I handed over the keys. His ignition was really bad and desperately needed the cylinder replaced. You had to play the giggle while push/pull and turn. Many hours later, as the guests began to leave and NoOne was getting comfy comes a call. Please come rescue us girls… your friend is passed out in the yard and we can’t get the car started! So, my date locked up and drove me to where they were… she agreed to take the girls home and for me to get the car started and get my friend off the lawn (like he was making snowangels). Well, unbeknownst to me… they broke the key off in the ignition and it just wasn’t going to happen. I tried, unsuccessfully and finally around 4AM decided to suck it up and call my dad. I had to walk a mile to a donut shop (with cops) and make the call… (my father always said call - no questions asked). He came, brought a puke bucket (5qt ice cream container) and brought us home. The next day, we fixed the ignition. My father forever after referred to him as my little drunk friend. (He was shorter than me… and I’m not tall). She later asked me to marry her, but I was still doing young adult. We later made a pact to marry if both of us were still single at 30. Didn’t happen for either of us.

 

He aroused her maternal instincts.
