That said I’d be hard pressed to buy the new console if and when it drops (rumored next fall).

There’s really no reason not to build a tower with how small they can be and the amount of modding performance available.

I have three desktops at my work. One is a ROG desktop and is an absolute animal for my cad stuff.

One of the others is dedicated for machine programming and simulations and the 3rd is normal windows for office shit.

All linked together via remote so I can hop from tower to tower instantly.

 

Best video card I ever had STRIX ROG...Zero fan noise unless it's really humming.

The change is from from crypto not being counted as a liability anymore. Lots of big increases in cash/securities because of it. Net sales are down YoY and operating losses are also down YoY so that's not bad. The rest of it is fluff.

 

I'm always leery of excessive impairment charges...

I wonder if they take impairment charges on their retail used inventory...Lower the prices of all the PS2 games right before earnings...

I was a little late in deciding to gain exposure to $BTC outside of actual Bitcoin...so $71.50 was my first buy...

 

I never wanted to deal with the hassle of owning BTC on my own, so I figured fuck it when the FBTC came out. I put a lot more into it than I should have, but in hindsight, no ragerts. It's my 4th largest holding overall across any of my investment platforms. I put a lot more into it that I should have lol

If you look at this without context it's just silly beyond belief (and yes, I know earnings was yesterday, and there was a convertible bond offering today)

 

I see two possibilities. One slightly more conspiratorial than the other.

1. (less conspiratorial option) Cohen and the board expect a market crash sooner rather than later. Wise to hoard USD and BTC if so. Buy up distressed assets on the cheap. In this scenario, GME is not a game store anymore, it's a holding company and tries to do a mini BRK. Given that there's almost no internal investment into the core business at this point, and they're doing everything they can to cut expenses, I tend to think this is their strategy.

2. (more conspiratorial option) All the original DD on the short thesis was correct, and the .gov has stepped into make sure hedge funds don't blow up en masse and destroy the global economy. GME slowly and predictably issues shares, but in such a way they're basically selling calls on their own company. Over-leveraged funds get an out, the floor price of GME keeps rising, and eventually the shorts have to flip long because GME has enough cash on hand that any move they make short of throwing it into a volcano is death to leveraged short positions. In this case, GME is also not a game company anymore

Long story short. I still think RC knows what he's doing. I gave up on the idea of a moass years ago now. I think we might be in for a TSLA sort of squeeze. A slow bleed up while the company amasses mountains of cash and then goes out and either does things or buys things. Gamestop as a gaming retailer is as good as dead now, I think, as the company's sole focus.


So far everybody has been making money off of GME aside from the retail investors. I don't think RC is out to fuck everybody, so I'm still in (though at a much reduced level)

I sorta agree with this guy. I've apparently upvoted him three times, and I never, and I mean never upvote people on reddit unless they've said something that actually made me stop, pause, and reconsider my preconceived notions.

 

Now that I am going .Mil route that new handheld xbox console may actually be on my radar. Especially if I'm going to just be playing more casual games like cod or maybe some sports games with the guys when we have a little time off. Going back to console may be what I do because "gaming laptops" are stupid. I do agree with what youre saying for the most part. The handheld thing isn't as wildly beneficial as many think. But itd be so much easier than moving an entire setup 3 maybe 4 times during my first 2 years in flight school, especially if I opt to just live on base who knows what kind of space I'll have.

Sold my Mountain bike the other day. So now I've got some cash to put into fidelity. This 5 grand woulda gone a lot farther 3.5 months ago but oh well. I think I'm watching AMD, SHOP, and PLTR for dips. Maybe even channel my inner GMEtard for fun cus fu** it?

If the price of $GME drops under $19 they have enough cash on hand to go private...And any attempt to buy back ALL shares would do something interesting...
