I saw a few reports on TacomaWorld of defective Lasfit LED switchback turn signal indicators. These are the bulbs that replace the incandescents that come standard on the 4th gen Tacomas. I checked mine and lo and behold, they glowed white but did not flash orange when the turn signal was engaged. Instead, they stayed white. This is a safety hazard that also invites a traffic ticket. I've asked for a refund. Will report back on how Lasfit responds. In the meantime, if you've purchased these I recommend you check that they're still working.

Curious if people would recommend other LEDs to replace the Lasfits. I saved the OEM bulbs so I guess I'm going to reinstall them tomorrow, but the brightness of LEDs sure is nice.

Lasfit products are junk, always have been and always will be. I’d recommend VLEDS 70-LED switchback or the 50-LED if keeping it amber. Actually though, I’m not even sure any switchback would work due to how the turn signal is the DRL. You probably need to stick to a plain amber bulb. The switchback will only work to be white at night time, unless that’s what you want. Either way, VLEDS is a good choice of brand.

If you need resistors to take care of hyper flash, then get some VLR6’s. The resistors will get warm anytime the DRL is on, so make sure they are only mounted to metal. This is part of the problem with lasfits, is they have resistors built in, which sounds lovely but it doesn’t work in the real world. They get too hot and kill the bulb. The resistor is warming up anytime the DRL or turn signal is on. No good for the bulb.

I put mine in a few months ago and didn't give it a second thought till this thread. Checked them tonight and lo and behold, driver side is hyper flashing and the other side is as dim as the OEM bulbs. WTF? Does Lasfit stand behind these?

I have to say, Lasfit's customer service is impressive. They responded right away. See below. Also, they say they've fixed the problem by redesigning the bulbs.

I've had great luck with Lasfit products - though I only use them for normal turn signal bulbs as they do not require resistors to be added. For everything else I use VLEDS now.

I have seen maaaaaany bulb failures from multiple brands when it comes to switchbacks though. Never been a product I've been into.

I just find it interesting that Toyota still uses incandescent bulbs on an all-new design for 2024 (but then again, there's also how long it took Toyota to finally put rear disc brakes on a Tacoma).

A quick note to close the loop on this. Lasfit refunded my money and sent new switchback bulbs, which they say have an improved design. These arrived yesterday and I installed them this afternoon. So far, so good! Too bad about the original bulbs, but Lasfit's customer service is A+
