I thought a setup like this was a complete plug and play type of system Without the need for a tune. I'm not quite sure what you mean by buying credits though. when I first Looked into this system, which is actually the exact same system that is being offered by this person down in Tampa FL In the for sale thread, it does state that it is a completely Plug and play system with about 45 minutes of install time.

There’s two ways to bypass the SAIS. Hewitt uses a plug and play method of fooling the ECU into thinking the system is there and functional. HPTuners goes into the vehicle ECU and reprograms it to no longer look for SAIS signals and disables report. I have HPTuners and it works as promised. Side benefit is an additional tune to optimize power. The downside is (speculation on my part) it changes the SUM number in the ECU and some states have begun to look for that. CT does not as far as I know and I haven’t had any issues passing emissions.

Hi Paul thank you very much for a better explanation. regarding the aspect of tuning honestly I think that it might be very difficult because Massachusetts is extremely strict especially regarding the aspect of emissions and getting your car inspected every year. it might be something that I go with the easier route to use the Hewitt plug and play system and not have to worry about it moving forward.

Fwiw I was tuned in mass and had no issues passing inspection, not sure if changing the tune for the sais will make a difference but I can't imagine it doing so outside of what a tune will

My way deletes the whole system and turns it off. You can remove all of it. It shows a not ready on scan but Zero lights indicated. Mine is fully removed. The credits are for licensing to be able to tune your specific vin

How, where, and from whom did you get tune? Did you delete the system yourself or have the entire thing done?

I finally got my wheels, tires, and lift on. I really happy with how it turned out minus the white letter out. I am not sold on that fully.
