I would check power. Then verify on a call for cooling the contactor actually pulls in. If it does verify the comp and fan are actually getting power. If they are check the cap by testing the MFD. if the contactor isn’t pulling in check to see if you have 24v to the control side.

@Speedytech7 are you going? I thought about going to the Melvin’s show at the Knitting Factory last week but I was too lazy to drive up

No this one hadn't made my list, probably going to go see the Marc Rebillet show, and then my buddy Matt lured me to some horrible concert idea called System of a Clown.... So yeah doing that I guess

We had one in the window right above the kitchen sink for a couple months but haven't seen it for a while. Luckily my wife never saw it or she'd burn the house down

So I just reinstalled the capacitor and cleaned up debris behind the panel. Turned power back on and the unit kicked on. This is good and bad because I don’t know what the problem was.

Possibly a poor connection on something maybe. Or the capacitor is going bad? Cheap enough to swap just for the hell of it.

Yeah I’m buying a spare since it’s manufacturing date is 2017. I verified all connections were solid so maybe a poor connection. But for the next few weeks this is how I will feel.

Good news on the Nissan, I was able to do a TCM reset by turning the ignition on and holding the gas pedal down for about 20 seconds. No more dash lights and a functioning speedo again.

It drives like it should be there is a slight stutter when starting from a complete stop especially when doing so very slowly. From outside the vehicle it might look like a new driver learning to shift a manual. I'm hoping it smooth itself out with a little more use

@Kwikvette It's been since High School that I really did much Arduino stuff and I was crap at it even back then... but I am about 98% sure this will do what you need it to with a cheapo display (I2C 1602 Serial Display), a single button, and a single wire used to sense when the plasma is enabled. Should only need a USB A or C to power it, whatever you prefer I have some old Arduinos with USB A and some new ones with USB C. I'll build it for ya if you wanna test it, here's the code incase someone smarter than myself (most of y'all) wants to see how unoptimized and lazy it is. I mostly need to know what kind of switching the control box does to trigger the plasma on, if it is high side (sends +12v or +5v or whatever) or if it is ground side (positive control voltage constantly exists on one pin and the control box just enables the ground) to set up the final little bit. My guess is that it will be some form of ground side switched circuit.

Was nerding the fuck out looking up writing for the eeprom last night, only to be told that STV just updated their software :bananadead:

    Screenshot at 2025-06-11 11-51-04.png

Mind you the last time I checked for an update was 2-3 days ago as I wanted to ensure I was on the latest version. I had an issue with layers not applying my lowered cut speed and kerf width only to find out it was user error on my part.

Just updated right now so it was released sometime between the day before yesterday and yesterday.

    Screenshot at 2025-06-11 11-51-58.png

Pierce counter, cut time, and cut distance just added.
