Too soon to really know for sure, but you can see my original clutch at 108k. Just trying to solve repetitive TOB failure crap. The cheap kit seems worthy so far, just 4,000mi.

I have a double case (a.k.a crawl box) in another rig (and am on the fence but leaning toward also putting one on my Taco). No envy at all whatsoever for automatic trucks.
With a crawl box, you can pretty much ignore the gas pedal and use just the brake & clutch to move forward or back an inch at a time with the engine at an idle. It also lets the truck go gently down the backside of a large rock or ledge (no more lurching & slamming, or burning the clutch). It was one of the best mods I did (right up there with lockers) since I do a lot of rock crawling (Rubicon Trail & similar).
