I really want to get new front springs before. I have the stock Dobinsons and want to add the heavier weight ones.....and I need a winch.............b/c I highly doubt I'd ever pull that thing back off to add one.

Gotta do it all at once :D

The Harbor Freight Badlands winch with the synthetic rope I rate highly. I wired it up on the trail even. Works every time. Some say if you really want them to last, take em apart, unpack the grease and repack with high quality grease. I didn't do that but I've had it 4 or 5 years now and it's never let me down. It's the 12k lb model so I know it can winch me up into the tree if I needed it to.

What sold me was a video of a guy with one on his 4Runner and he attached it to an overhead crane and then winched the 4runner into the air.

Pretty sure warn and the badlands are made in the same factory in china. one just uses higher quality grease and maybe a faster motor?
