Sorry your riding buddy is suffering from Miniere's. Good thoughts to him and his medical team to get it sorted.

Glad to see some positive news. The Outbacks are nice cars. Continued good thoughts to you and yours.

Dammit Jim, have you tried any of the half-caf blends of coffee? I would have to go this route if caffeine caused me any medical issues. Good luck!

Get well soon Greg. I have heard this is typical reactions from several co-workers that have received the Shingles vax.

Might start blending the good stuff, but haven’t had any caffeine withdrawal, no headaches. I did have a Coke yesterday afternoon :D

I had mine just about a month ago. Mild reaction fortunately. I go at the end of the month for my second shot.

Couple years ago I stopped at a camp midway to my destination and wasn’t planning on hanging out other than to sleep and get back on the road early. Got up, made coffee, went for a walk around camp to stretch my legs before the drive. There was a family camped there and the dad was trying to let the mom sleep in and keep their two boys occupied. The older of the two - maybe 7 or 8 yo - wanted to go fishing so dad was grabbing their stuff out of the truck. I’m down by the river, kid runs up maybe 10 yards from where I’m standing and throws his line in with his spider man fishing pole. Gets a freakin huge brown trout on the first cast. Dad’s still trying to get the younger kid set up and this kid’s screaming at the top of his lungs “DAD! DAD! I GOT ONE!
I’m not sure who was more shocked - the kid, the dad, or me.
Since the kid was closer to me and it looked like the fish was about to take off with the whole rod I set my coffee cup down on a rock and told the kid to get the fish to me. Dad throws me their net and we bring him in. Kid was super excited and it’s C & R there so I helped him get him unhooked and he let him go.
Thought about maybe sticking around but ended up not, didn’t want to get skunked and out fished by a kid.

Just out of a 2hr production meeting where one of the many highlights really stuck out, this one came from my boss, the head of engineering for the R&D group.

He requested that the purchasing manager find a steel supplier that has steel in a particular gauge that won't warp during the welding process.

Absolutely f-n priceless. There's more to share later.

I went to college for a mfg degree. Specializing in tool and die making. Upon graduation Rohr industries (the big employer in San Diego) shut down and all the other small mfg houses moved overseas.

That's when I became a Xerox employee for life.
