    Mahindra 4550 4WD w/ rear diff lock :cookiemonster:
    2866lbs front lift capacity

    3K lbs lift was my need. Overloading a tractor is what they are meant for. It will do everything I need.

    There is usually a hydraulic limiter that you can bypass to increase flow and thus lifting. Have to walk a thin line to ensure you don’t blow the seals out of the cylinders or damage lift points. A lot of manufacturers really limit their machines to ensure user error doesn’t occur for new operators.

    congrats on the new tractor. Nice machine that’s handy to have.

    Nice! The snow-clearing tractor I saw in Ardbeg this Feb was a Mahindra, though it had an enclosed cab.

    @TegoTaco

    this is from @honkonbobo third gen if I recall. Not sure if the center open diffs are the same but you are more then welcomed to it.
    image.jpgother option is getting an entire third member from a wrecker. I have gotten two frontndiffs from standard auto wreckers without much trouble.

    Also I’m not sure who bought @Windigo rear end but they may have some spare parts or be able to help ya out.

    Unless it’s full send and getting a rear gear and some goodies going. If so carry on!

    @tacoma16 I was sharing the carnage lol. We are doing a rear gear and lsd. Thanks for the help. Quick question if I put a third gen axle tube in my truck is the gearing the same for the front differential or I have to replace the front differential also??? Thanks

    What is the gear ratio of the 3rd gen rear end? Our second gens have the 3.73 so you would have to match that. Believe only the manual 3rd gens came with 4.10’s so if it’s out of an automatic you should have matched front and rear ratios.

    @3JOH22A sound about right?

    No worries, sounds super random. Even with all the abuse I put mine through the rear end has stayed together so far for me.

    Maybe I misread this. What do you mean axle tube? The entire axle? If so apparently the gears are different and you would have to match the front.

    I'm guessing you'd want the larger 8.75" rear diff in the MT and Off Road AT models. I'm not sure if the pinion flange bolt circle and pilot diameter are bigger than 2nd gen. The driveshaft diameter is bigger at the carrier bearing, and the transfer case output flange is bigger too.

    Any electricians here?
    I bought a welder. It's both 120 and 220 V capable.

    I have a 220 outlet in the garage, but it uses a Nema 14-50 plug (pic-left) The Welder has a Nema 6-50 plug (pic-right)
    There are adaptors on scAmazon for this, but is that safe to use? Rather not blow up/burn down the place....

    :D I'm actually heading out there tomorrow - so I'll ask there for sure, since, surprising as it is, I'd rather not burn down the place

    Could you change the plug? I ran an adapter to use my 220 welder plug to adapt to a 30amp dryer plug. Worked fine.
