What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Did you swap out the backup camera for a better one or reuse existing one?

 

Reused the OEM camera. My truck didn’t come with one so I added it.

 

Tested out the new bike rack recently

Don't have an enduro, just hit ATM (I think that's what it's called). Waiting for Snoqualmie/Stevens to open

Needs wet sanded and buffed then reassembled.

Debating on leaving the emblem chrome or painting it black.


Bezels and bowls are done.

Just need to determine if I wanna leave the front marker lenses the factory yellow or tint them orange.

For the first time ever. I took off my canopy. It's been roughly 8 years, but I'm moving soon so this would help (a lot)

 

Flying my old man to Hawaii, to work on my truck with me. He’s 62 so I’m not sure how much longer we’ll be able to do jobs like this.

I saved a whole bunch I could do myself, but thought we’d do it as a project.

Job list:
New bedsides -fibreglass
Repaint front and rear bumper
New tail lights, grill with raptor lights, head lights and install upgraded wiring harness for headlights
Install Auxbeam 6 gang
Replace spark plugs
Clean throttle body.

 

Finally routed my vacuum lines correctly lol.. snapped off my brake mc off the rivet in the process so lookimg at wildwood tandem mc replacement. Mounted a mishimoto pwm fan controller (crooked in the picture lol) and currently working out the wiring.

Cleaned up some additional wiring and started running the hi-lo bixenon relay harness for my headlight retrofits.

Another day in the office. Finished up front suspension rebuild for tundra and transmission swap for the 3rd gen Tacoma.

The shop has been picking up momentum and with it, a myriad of parts deliveries a day. Nothing brings tears to my eyes like seeing a dirt king package every week.

 

Flying your old man out to help you wrench on your truck so you can spend some time together is pretty damn cool.

 

Qantas had a sale, so I brought him over for Father’s Day.

anyway, back to tacomas

 

Finally got to see my S/C'er that I got back in December, up and "running" still have a few more things that need to be done, but it's good to be at this stage of progress! It's been a long time coming!

are you doing a projector mod? or planning something else with the blacked out reflectors.

 

Truck already has a D2S retrofit.

Pulling the existing lights apart and robbing the projectors and lenses from them.

Im getting bored with all the chrome and looking to change up the front end to make the truck look more aggressive.

 

Installed new headlights on my 2005 Pre-Runner. Its only got 54K on her but the lights were 20 years old and glazed over.

Pretty straight fwd project. Only thing is the plastic clips that hold the grill, bumper etc were brittle and broke.

And the screw that is underneath behind the wheel fender liner is a super royal PITA to get to.

Taillights are next.
