I don't use the glue boards/tents in the shop but that's because I have a ton of neighbor cats that hang in the back yard. But man the insects those boards catch in my kitchen.... WOW. I haven't gotten a mouse in years now, makes me hopeful I caught the problem early enough.

I got them for the bugs that come in from outside and they work great.

We got a neighborhood cat that loves making rounds here too - need more cats! (Fixed of course)

Just sucks that he likes eating the lizards as well

The cats here I've only ever seen catch rodents... which impressively included one squirrel. Thankfully none of the 4 that hang in my back courtyard area seem to go for the birds or my fish. We don't have lizards here, which now that I think about it is kinda weird, we are still a desert. But I have seen the cats go after the praying mantis when they're adult size, cat vs mantis is a fun spectacle.

Kinda looks like something got scaled wrong, feed scale way up movement scale way down and it just made a fucked up spire instead. Could have been a bad spool of filament too, almost looks like it ballooned up somehow

I saw two rattlers up the street from our house last week. One looked super big and old.

Identified this little guy as a San Gabriel Rosy Boa, they are unique to the Southwest and apparently not easy to find. They are slow moving and like to stay hidden. Non venomous. Think this little guy was just disoriented being so young

Can imagine that's shitty as hell to clean up

The plastic doesn't really adhere to anything though right? Man, imagine a bad spool fucking up your whole day

It's not sticky if that's what you mean, but sorta like hot glue it can still adhere to something when it is hot.

Big fail, nah, but I don't print huge things either, mostly protos of things I'll have someone else print, cut, mill out of better materials. I've had plenty of things wad up or snap off from poor settings or environment though.

My buddy bought a house where the previous owners used to make soaps... place smelled like the fancy section of the grocery store with all the deodorants and soaps that don't work right. Couldn't ever remove the smell, something about the fat or wax content made it like cigarette tar, it just coats everything it vaporizes near. Doing it with a 3d printer just seems like it would vaporize a ton of it.

I had recently bought Theo a small swing as a placeholder for a large set

However, there's one thing I didn't like and it's this

    20250613_090743.jpg

    You're given a cheap quick link that's supported by a 1/4" - 20 bolt

Worst part is, the ears that hold the bolt can bend if you apply too much torque on the bolt

    Simple solution

    20250613_085045.jpg

Using M8 hardware - much beefier

Back to the garage to catch up on orders :welder:
