    I sure do....Pickett

In college chem I remember my professor walking into class the first day with an HP calculator on his hip. It was the first time I saw one. It only did basic math and cost over $300 back in the early 70's. Not many years later calculators that did more complex math cost a fraction of those first HP's.

I have one and I bought one for my daughter (now 28) while she was in high school. My daughter is marginally "on the spectrum" and as a sophomore in high school she got kicked out of calculus into "AP-Calc", only to get kicked out of that class into "College-Calc", all within the first few weeks of school that year. Then as a junior she took a bunch of state achievement tests and scored the highest score in the state on the physics exam, even though she'd never taken physics. She said, "But Daddy, it was just like Calculus; it was so easy."

With the above in mind, she proved what a total nerd she is by thinking a gift of a slide rule was one of the coolest gifts she'd ever gotten. :p

Had a slide rule in high school as well. Used it in Electrical Theory class. Best teacher I ever had. Still have the slide rule somewhere in the basement storage boxes  . Made figuring out all the voltage vs amp equations easier than on paper.:D

In high school we had a test in 1974 with the slide rule. With a little schooling not so hard. Brings back memories

My hard ass dad bought me a TI SR 52 for college in 1976.

    Good morning folks!

Today we're heading off to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (https://airandspace.si.edu/visit/udvar-hazy-center), which is part of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, I've wanted to visit since it opened in 2010.

Yeah, I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

    Welcome to the thread.

I need to go myself. Most of the Silver Hill MD restoration facility has been moved to the Chantilly VA location in a separate building.

Good morning. Going to meet up with my brother and his son plus my sisters son today for a long lunch while my sister hosts a bridal shower for her son's wife. Has to be a better way to word this.

Full day of family activity. Making a shrimp coctail for the bridal shower this morning.
