Can you share a pic of your volume settings? Where I have mine is better than how it came but still less than ideal. The tags under volume balance are pretty nonsensical to me. Thanks.

So this is what I got so far.

    IMG_4731.jpg
    Go to settings.

F*ck. Give me a second to fix this lol.
    Edit coming.

    IMG_4732.jpg

    Factory > Volume balance settings

    IMG_4733.jpg

I have the nav slider set to max. This works in CarPlay.

    IMG_4734.jpg

    Settings < general < sound mix scale < 5.

This is the background sound volume that will be played over by notifications.

Check your phone settings and make sure sound check isn’t on. If on iPhone it’s in music settings. If on android I don’t have a clue.

This is what I got going on so far. I’m still going to tear into this more. Next step for me is developer mode or whatever it’s called and tear into coding. I love messing with shit.

I plan to dive in further because I feel like I shouldn’t have to have a slider pegged to get acceptable feedback.

Thanks - I see they have a newer firmware available. Will update (although it’s a pain and one loses all the settings), replicate your setup, and report back. Have you noticed that while using CarPlay, Google Maps voice navigation mostly doesn’t work or works with a delay, whereas Apple Maps voice navigation is much more in sync?

I haven’t tried using Google maps for navigation. Since I’m on iPhone my default nav app for CarPlay is Apple Maps.

Google maps is intriguing though since it can run satellite imagery, apple map cannot in CarPlay.

I’ll run onX on the headunit when I want satellite.

The only out of sync issue I’ve encountered so far is music on car play. You switch tracks. The text and album art changes faster than the music itself. Kind of petty but it pisses me off. The oem unit was in sync.

I think the music changing delay is more to do with it being a wireless carplay vs wired. I have had that issue in every wireless Carplay capable vehicle I've used.

Fair enough. This is my first wireless CarPlay endeavor.

On the oem unit I ran Bluetooth, I didnt like being tethered.

The standalone Joying GPS never worked on my headunit, not sure why. I have to use apple carplay for any maps.
