Hoss seed green magic, 1st year stepping away from heirloom and going hybrid . Much bigger heads. Darn sure a repeat for fall.

 

We have pocket gophers here, believe they're bigger with a bigger appetite. I've got 4 gopher hawk traps I keep employed most of the time. Rat @#$$& plus 6 Victor's on hand.

IDK. Mine get the crotch gummosis after a wet winter. Sometimes even sprout epicormic leaves. But then recover when it dries out. You’ve been dry this year however, No?

 

A bit dry but not unusually so.

it could be a root problem or that side got a late hard frost or rather borderline frost

 

The only other thing I can think of is that indigenous prunus likes a low ph.

Got some blackberries starting to turn red

 

Have some berries starting to turn too, the Apache is a good 7 feet tall and the Triple Crown turned into a beast, tall and wide!

 

I cut the top 1" or so when it gets around 4' causes the cane to branch out and produce more. My ouchita is shooting some nice primacanes.

 

I started doing that on my Black Raspberries and recently the Blackberries. Your Ouchita sounds awesome, had to dig mine up and destroy it because it had Orange Rust.
