Sounds good. I still think I'd keep the springs as is until you get it loaded and get all your gear onboard. It's amazing how fast you add the lbs. Good luck and enjoy it.

    Just the basics
I had a Finch Shell model. It was a great camper but still heavy for a Tacoma IMHO.

Do you have a photo of the bed mount brackets?

This is from Wander the West.

Edit: I had a 2012 Eagle on my 2010 DCLB and the brackets supplied at that time didn't have the angled "landing pads" that are just inboard of the bed bolts.

Does anybody have an older Fleet model on their 3rd gen long bed?
I ran across this one, it’s a 80’s Fleet wide body currently on a 17 Tacoma.
I’m thinking about it for my 23 long bed but it looks awfully wide. Owner says it’s always on his truck and it’s a daily driver with airbags only. Just wondering how the truck would handle and perform with this, especially off rosd

Thank you!. I wonder if these brackets can be used on the 4th gen? The bed bolts are in a different location, but you may still be able to attach the FWC with long arms?

Can't answer that. The bed bolts should still anchor into the frame. Call FWC and ask, they're usually pretty quick to answer.

Will you be removing the tailgate?

Seems like it would be difficult (maybe impossible) to lower the spare tire with the tailgate down.

I believe impossible, it's also a pain in the ass to get in and out of the camper with it on.

We've been using the 4 step glowstep on our Northstar. They're great! But, can be a bit pricey and bulky.
A small aluminum stepladder works in a pinch. My parents have those steps that go in the trailer hitch, but they're super bulky and will takeout your legs. A single custom step mounted on a drop hitch is a great option too. :notsure:

I posted in the for sale general, but there it is for this group! For anyone interested in a cabin on wheels this is it. Great camper and skinny so you can go down any trail your truck will make it. Allows for closing tailgate on long bed but fits short bed and tailgate doubles as a porch. I’ll take BO but asking 18 k which is less than a base model with nothing in it. Sleeps 3 comfortably.

Pricey for the older square door model. I got my asking price for my silver spur finch but that was years ago when the market was better. GLWS
