Ok, apologies if this has already been discussed in another thread (I searched and couldn't find an answer).

2017 TRD pro with aftermarket wheels which I installed with new Toyota TPMS sensors (pt # 42607-48010). The tire shop couldn't program them so I purchased an Autel 508 and I was able to program them and load up the data through OBDii.

    Here's the problem

After programming them, they register on the dash but at about 3-4 psi lower than the actual tire pressure. I tried redoing the process by first lowering the tires to the recommended settings on the door sticker and then re-airing up afterwards. Only resulted in low pressure warning on the dash. If I try the reset button once I've aired back up, it seems to delete the TPMS data altogether and I'm back to where I starred (dashes on the screen where tire pressure should be reading).

Anyone solved this mystery and have steps to share so I can get accurate tire pressures back on my dash?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions

If they are your original ones, i wouldn’t be surprised if they were low on batteries. They’re only designed to last 5-10 years

Have you checked each sensor to see what they read.. let’s say they are aired up to 32psi with an accurate gauge..when you scan them with the autel what pressures does it show…sometimes they read different than the actual pressure.

@roboturner , they were new at install so now about 1.5 years old.

@HondaGM , they do read differently. With my pressure gauge they read 37psi and with the Autel scanner, the TPMS sensors read around 32psi. Typically about 4-5psi lower than actual.

I was under the impression the Autel 508 could "program" only Autel sensors. This is news to me. They can read and position the sensors upon rotation. I could be wrong, but as I was buying both the 508 tool and four of the Autel sensors I do believe I read that it only programmed the Autel sensors, none other. It does Read/Activate/Relearn all sensors, but that is not programming - IIUC.

I would check another pressure gauge to see if yours is still accurate. We sell autel sensors at the shop I work at and have only seen one sensor out of the four not reading properly.

He did not get the Autel sensors, but the Toyota sensors.

Woops, my bad. I would still try another tire pressure gauge to check if your gauge is accurate.

Since you run a shop can you confirm that the Autel tool only programs Autel sensors?

Ok..so that tells you that the sensors are sending the pressures that they are reading..4 to 5 psi low.sounds like it’s not a programming problem but a sensor issue.
