    Definitely a cold 62. Lol
Well the 13t front sprocket I had was for the GSXR so it didn’t fit. Started doing some gearing calculators and found that if I go from a 130/70/17 rear to a 140/70/17 rear that it will effect gearing by a couple teeth down in the rear.
First thing is do I want to stick to a 130 tire? Not a lot of options for that size. More options for a 140 but then it’s obviously more weight that the little bike doesn’t need. I will get it all figured out soon. Basically I am looking at RPMs at 60 for reference. I was satisfied with the pull with the stock gear ratio of the DS 14/40 with the 120/70/18 tire. So I plan on getting as close without going under to that rpm at 60. I have it narrowed down but just need to make a decision on the 130 or 140 rear tire.

Will a 140 fit? Also look at profiles of a 130vs140 the 140 might be a bit flatter profile which will make things more lazy feeling. Look at overall diameter as well as specd by tires manufacturers not just dimension calculations as those often differ.

You mentioned GSXR but sounds like this is for dual sport on the klx?

JT sprockets you can get a front steel sprocket for like 10-12 bucks. Then use a tire size that is easy to find with options.

The 13t sprocket I have is for a GSXR. I thought it was for the Klx but I must have given it to my brother for his bike.
I am going to stick to a 130 rear tire. Also I think going up two on the rear sprocket will give me what I want. Just need to find a 39t rear sprocket. So far no luck.
Found a 39t sprocket. It’s not listed for my bike but with some looking around I found someone that said it fits. It’s only 25 bucks and if it doesn’t fit I can return it. Bought off Amazon. We will see.

    None... yet.
The 705's. Work really well in dirt/gravel and, while I'm no knee-dragger, I hitting tight turns 15-20 mph over the "recommended" limit with no squirm or sliding. The downsides: they are not good in mud (but what 70/30 tire is?) and they are wearing much quicker than I expected on fairly light, low hp bike. Probably doesn't help that I go full throttle out of most turns... Still, for the price, I think they are a great value!

Those are on my possible list, would need to up tire diameter to get a close enough size to stock. How many miles do you have so far?

1800. Figure they are good for another 1500-2000 so, for the price, I can't complain... too much.

I've been buying Icon as of late. I still have my big tool set from Craftsman that my dad gave me in 97 as a Christmas gift. But.......if I'm buying new stuff, it has been Icon :D

    1st lunch, 10:30am, around 10K elevation.

2nd lunch, 1:30pm, much lower down.

Long day of riding, left early enough (6am) to beat the masses and pretty much had the mountain to myself. Lot's of campers this weekend, the smell of campfire and bacon was intoxicating. :D

Pulled the trigger on new tires for the Klx. Bought stock size Michelin pilot street radial.
The rims will be sealed for tubeless before the install. I will sell the stock tires. Might be able to get $75 bucks for them.

Speaking of crush washers. The dealership wanted $5.99 for a crush washer for the KLX110  I was like I will just reuse the one that’s on there

After a day of steep mountain roads, I'm not so sure changing out the front sprocket was the best idea for where I ride. It is just a tad underpowered taking off on an incline. I don't want the stock gearing back though, just a bit more low end.
I changed front 14t to a 15t, would changing the rear sprocket one tooth extra place it kind of in the middle from stock and where it's at now?
Or should I go back to 14t front and go down 1-2 tooth on the rear?
One thing I have noticed is the throttle seems to be "jerky" now at low speeds. Reddit, the source of all knowledge, says this might happen going to a larger front sprocket like I did.

    Edit; From JT sprockets.
    14/46 stock, 3.29 ratio.
    15/46 where I'm at now. 3.07 ratio
14/45-3.21, not much change, but maybe just enough extra top end while keeping some low end grunt.
These next two might be the sweet spot
14/44-3.14, considering this one to put the stock front back on.
    15/47-3.13.
and of course a longer or shorter chain...
Being just a hair shy of 40hp at altitude is all I have to work with.
Maybe time to add/trade for a bigger bike? :p
