Agreed. I have lots to answer for when my time comes @ the gates, but not helping family isn't one of them...

Only random sprinkles here. I brought the flag inside last night in anticipation of a lot of rain. Could have left it out for Flag Day so little rain here.

As much as I was sweating today I thought it was raining, oh the humidity and dew point. But did a couple hrs of landscaping phase 3 lol, getting rid of red lava rocks and a couple rose bushes and weeds. But I finally found something deer won't eat a d I don't have to water!

Went to go see my parents earlier. Walk in the kitchen my father has the heat on. I said pop good god it's 90° in here what in fuck are you doing. I wouldn't say it hot outside now but it's nice out. Told him I'll see you tomorrow. I cant sit in here with you right now. Hes turning into his father. Years ago when I visited my grandparents down in Florida I woke up at like 2am sweating the life out of me my grandpop had the heat set to 85 and it was 90 outside.

My grandparents lived in San Antonio, TX and hosted us in their home in the mid 1990s.

Wife still remembers how terrible we slept while visiting. I'm sad. lol

So I've noticed the steering on my Tacoma has gotten really stiff, especially when the wheels are straight and I got to turn them. Checked the reservoir (full), checked balljoints, rack n pinion, inner and outer tre's (greased and good). Did some more searching online and found that the universal joint on the lower steering shaft seizes up, especially up here in the rustbelt. Don't have the money right now to replace that so I got under the truck and sprayed the u-joints (upper and lower) with wd40. Now thre tacoma's steering feels light and easy. Night and day difference. Since we all live in the rustbelt I figured I'd share this little bit of helpful info. I was getting ready to swap out the rack.

2018 I flew into Newark and drove to the hotel right next door almost to the Prudential Center (concert), then drove to AC the next day for 3 days. Never really minded that driving, even though as a MAsshole I don't usually do city driving.

Yup, hit it good with some PB Blaster if it tightens up again. My 2010 did the same a couple of years ago, it lives outside. I was able to do mine from above and just kept turning the steering wheel to hit all the sides..I did end up having the intermediate shaft replaced a few months later because it looked like shit.

Good coating to use if it also keeps the rust at bay yup

I feel ya Steel. Yesterday me and the grandson dug up our septic. We have lived here almost 32 1/2 years with no problem, but the last month or so we noticed an issue. I put a bacteria like product in the system every month, but I think having another person in the house may have been the catalyst. Anyway, nobody knew where the septic was located so i used a probing rod that I borrowed from a buddy, located and dug it up. Now to see the damage as far as cost. Hopefully, it will just need a clean out and not repair to the leachfield. The lid looks good.

Yeah, an a friend who runs an excavating business said into the thousands. A new lid is $5k, then if we had to repair the leachfield he said 20 tons of river rock and he usually charges $6k to dig and fill it, but he said he cut me a discount. My step son said he could get river rock at a contractor's rate. Still, Here's hoping.

Good morning Pennsylvania happy father's day to all you fathers.
In other news I cant even use the bathroom in peace nothing having a 100lb plus shep rudely getting into your personal space. He did this when he was puppy but this morning he decided to go back to his roots.

I feel so protected while using the bathroom lol

Sounds like this is about to get really expensive... I can also smell this picture

EDIT: What it sounds like is after all those years the solids and scum layer have come together and the inlet is clogging. Those additives sorta break things down, but over time it's just too much and all the layers become one solid uhm, well use your imagination.

Also kinda baffles (pun intended) me at how widespread the rules are around the state. Here in my township (Montgomery, Franklin County) we're required to pump every 3 years and all our tanks are accessible. 5 or so years back (from imagery) it looks like the old cast iron/clay going to the tank collapsed and the old concrete lid collapsed. They replaced it with an easy open lid.

My system is 60 years old and on life support. There's just two of us here, but when grandmother was here I would have to open up the lid and wash away the toilet paper as it was clogging the inlet. Despite the warnings and me getting downright nasty to knock it off. I usually pump every 1.5-2 years. Still going to need a $35,000 replacement as the soil will not perc correctly around here. I will lose 1/2 my backyard to a sand mound system.
