Hey yall, I wanted to see if anyone has ran 285/75/17 without a CMC? I wouldn’t do any serious wheeling until I got a CMC but wanted to see if it is driveable. I got about roughly a 3” lift but have some armor so probably more around 2.75-2.5” depending and I am currently running 285/70/17 with zero rubbing or issues. I am in need of some new tires soon and just thought if it would make sense or not, thanks TW!

I am. But I am also set up with JD Fabrication lower control arm mount system with lower control arm moved forward and 17"x8.5" 0 offset wheel.

285/75/17 Zero Offset Wheels no cab chop no rubbing 5.1/5.2 Caster. Minor plastic trimming and wheel liner reforming. No tire contact anywhere at any level of wheel motion/articulation.

The BTF LCA is a great solution. Even has space for a mud flap.

What UCAs are those? I've heard people losing turning radius with those LCAs, how is yours?

Turning radius is the same. I can see how you would lose turning radius if you didn’t cut off the turning/steering stops/stubs on the LCA ball joint bracket.

UCAs are Ironman. They are decent the price was right :)

    LCA steering stop removed:

Surprised you only have 5 degrees of caster. Those UCAs correct caster by 4 degrees and the LCAs push the lower ball joint 3/4" forward.

Right? Same thought here but I’m not buying Ironmans statement about caster correction before the LCA addition best I could get was 2 degrees of caster with the rear alignment bolt cranked all the way to move the wheel forward.

Both rear alignment bolts are still in same position guessing it could get back to 3 or 4 degrees of caster.

The alignment tech was lacking imagination so I just moved on. May find another shop to take another crack at it.
