I just saw a replay of the Bowling Ball, I mean Kyle Busch driving with his Head Up His Ass in the rain on Slicks. Seams Like everyone else was doing fine around the corner until he tried at Full Speed. Was he trying to take Denny's Place Today?

Technical note: By NASCAR rules, if it's a "team backup car," they cannot fully decal it. I don't know why, but this has been the case as far back as the early 1990s.

Ex: Al Unser Jr was supposed to run this car in the '93 Daytona 500 but wrecked in the twin 125 race.

So they had to go to a backup, which, at the time, Hendrick's backup was an old Ken Schrader Kodiak car.
    s-l1600_ad8ae577f4efad95c953079d59f2a948e045266d.jpg

So Little Al ran this car for the 500, and he was doing dang good until he saw that black #3 in his mirror, which led to quite the calamity for race leader Kyle Petty midway through the race.

They changed the rule a couple years ago for Trucks and Xfinity.
Teams pick base car color for back up cars. Have to use that color all season. If a back up is used it can have number, Nascar required stickers and sponsor decal but not allowed to re-wrap in original car colors. Cost cutting measure.
