That’s a great idea! I end up using that tool kit around the garage too

I have ridden 2 goldwings and now my Varadero with linked brakes.

It's great because it simplifies braking, but its awful doing parking lot drills. You want to drag the rear brake during sharp turns and maneuvers but it will actually apply the front brake. Which is not good at all during sharp turns.

I'm glad I have my dual sport where I can lock up the brakes like a goon, but for daily riding, happy with linked so far.

Bought this Akro knockoff last year from fleabay. Bastards advertised as the real thing of course, even came with a legit sticker. Weighs just a couple pounds compared to the heavy stock can.
Last year I Installed it and removed it after startup, never rode with it. Seemed way too loud.
I have owned a few Harley's, so that's saying something.
Installed it again today, cut slits so a clamp could be used in place of the springs that broke last year, cheap POS. :p
Took it for a rip around the reservoir. Definitely louder, has a nice growl. "Sounds faster" on the throttle.
The helmet drone is a bit much though. A long day would drive me insane.
After it cools, I'll swap the stock can back and try the same route again to see if it was worth it or not. Part of me feels like it lost too much back pressure. No CEL after 15 miles, so good there. It just happens to fit the mini bike too, so it will have a home somewhere.

One dislike about it is the top bracket to secure it puts quite a bit of upward strain on the exhaust system, enough to make me worry about pipe failure. Easy enough to make a new bracket though.

I have enough tools already in the garage. I'm keeping those as dedicated on the bike tools.

I had a similar cheap exhaust on my F800GS for a while. One thing with shorter exhausts in particular is it'll shift the powerband up in the RPM's. Your exhaust tract is shorter, so pulse reflections arrive quicker, which is beneficial for the shorter periods between valve openings at higher rpms. Anyways, sound was fun on the F800GS, but I was able to notice the impact down low. That bike lives it's life in low rpm luggy torque situations and I rarely ever touch the red line on it, so I went back to the stock exhaust after about a season of noisy shits and gigs.

After cool down and reinstall of the stock can, it stays stock. Definitely without a doubt gives it more torque on the takeoff.
The baffle removal mod will stay as well as it's only loud on acceleration, normal volume at cruising speed.
I like not having the reverb in the helmet.
Managed 58 miles today between washing, modding, gassing, and screwing off in general.

Posted in the wrong thread yesterday, but got a lightly used D-Air jacket off FB marketplace for less than a third the cost of new. Laid up with a nasty cold so all I can do is look at it

Oo let us know how you like once you get some time with it. Hopefully you don't have to try out the airbag portion.

Ahh ok fuel injected at altitude makes sense with that kinda mpg. I get around 55-60 on my xt225 around town at essentially sea level.... that stated havent put more than 1k miles on it in the last year but I love the lil thing - rode it quite a bit today between errands and pool party shenanigans of my buddies across town. It it still 100% the easiest starting / least finicky running moto that I own #carburetor

Yes, I think you are. I mean, it's one division equation at fill up, I don't track it religiously or go out to extreme significant digits, but I do the .2 seconds of math usually. Grom is around 80-85, BMW and Husky around 40-45 around town, higher if I'm steady cruising, CT90 who knows, never actually put a full tank through that, I usually need to drain it for some reason or another before I finish it off. Grom and Husky also tell me on the dash as I'm riding.

I do keep tabs on and track my car though through Fuelly. Usually a good way to spot something going wrong if your average is way off normal.

It's bulky, it makes a well fitting jacket extra tight, with the air canister right in the lower back, with a back protector too. I can't see myself using it for local rides, but longer stuff probably a good idea
I had an Impala with a busted fuel gauge, I ran outta gas so often in that car, I hated it so much. I became really compulsive about knowing every vehicles range after that. I always reset trip meters at fill ups

I take my two 6gal jugs to fill at the station so I just top off at home before I take off. I guess I never commuted on my bikes so there was no need to track mileage. I guess I will get a small fuel bottle and see what the Klx gets for mileage.

I always did track my mileage in my truck.

Speaking of mileage, I got about 72.4 mpg from Enumclaw to Chinook Pass and back home, about 115 miles. Did around 140 miles today, in total.

The new HeliBars did the trick for Nicole. I asked how her shoulder was when we hit Greenwater and she was just fine. She was ready to stop when we made it there before, starting to hurt.

Overall, a great trip up to Chinook Pass.

Yes. It's literally as easy as checking the mileage it takes to run through a tank or even half a tank and then dividing by like 2 or 3; maybe not even needing to do any division on something small lol

I only got my hondas mileage because on long trips I watch the miles incase my fuel reading is inaccurate. Old cars I do this as well, I've had one car with a bad reading.

    I think my 250cc yamaha gets 3-4L/100km (75mpg) but no idea. My 1000cc honda gets 5-6L/100km 40-50mpg?

I refuse to hyper mile. I'm super I could do better.

Probably. Most bikes I've owned haven't had fuel gauges and I have an aversion to having to push my bike when it runs out of fuel. I've owned too many older cars where the gas gauge didn't work as well. I've always checked my mileage, guess I got that from my parents.

just a couple of things tbh
im shocked you dont with the klxs smaller tank? but i guess my 300r sucks gas more then the dual sport and sm models so im always watching other peoples miles because no tach no speedo no nothing lol!

tbh i started mainly watching it after i ran out of gas on my 03 klx400... had to push that damn thing up a hill in 93 degree heat! and someone finally felt pity on me and gave me a splash of gas and some water haha.

klx300r can get about 85miles on the tank its not super accurate im going off the tach on the gfs little xr150l

tracer can hit about 180-200 if im just highway cruising at 75-80mph but with ridding with the gf in we take back roads with her bike so been more like 160ish

    xr150l can get about 120ish
