    None

The clamp I got is from autozone. I think it is a little better because after pulling off the plastic part, it has a triangle head. The triangle is almost impossible to take off with a plier. Not enough grip and the force to turn is pretty hard.

Dumb question, do you need a clamp on both sides of the tailgate or just one?

I installed this clamp thanks to TW. I installed on both sides, though, as I was concerned about the passenger side being heavier due to the clamp:D

If someone has the balls/is deranged enough to steal a tailgate, chances are that theyve done this plenty of times, and come prepared with all of the tools necessary to remove a clamp if one is present. That tailgate is history with or without the clamp.

Nope. There was a string of tailgates stolen from my condos. 4 were gone, even my neighbors, and my tailgate was in the down position (I ALWAYS keep it up). Im talking with the neigbors about it, and they pointed to my truck and said "It must be nice to have a non removable tailgate". I told them that I didnt have that, and showed them the hose clamp. They couldnt belive it, and now, most of the trucks in my Condos have hose clamps on their tail gates. 28 years of owning trucks, and I have lived in 3 neigborhoods where tailgates were stolen, but I have never lost one :)

Theft of anything usually isnt just sporadic, especially if they are stealing multiple tailgates in a condo like you said. Its routine for them. After unsuccessfully trying to poach a tailgate, then seeing that they cant because of the hoseclamp, the thief isnt going to bring a screwdriver the next time, or google the mod? If they have the audacity to steal a tailgate(s), I just dont think theyre worried about the extra time it takes to remove a hose clamp. But I guess its better than nothing.

Theives dont want to spend alot of time fucking with something wither. The longer they are on the scene, the greater their chance of getting caught. any device that gives an impedment to their theft, makes the item less worth it to them. Even if they have the tools, they have to try to turn that little nut alot of times, and do so under pressure knowing that any second, someone could poke their head up and see them.

Agree to disagree, I guess. I havent performed the mod so I cant say how easy it is to access the nut in this particular mod. However, every hose clamp ive ever used unscrewed in seconds. I think you underestimate the boldness of the common thief, and may have gotten extremely lucky in your particular location.

Well, when theyre breaking into homes in broad daylight, stealing custom wheels off cars and trucks, and smashing car windows, Im guessing they know about the hose clamp mod and carry a screwdriver, and all kinds of other assorted hex bits etc. when they roll up. Just an opinion.
