HF got hats now? Huh you know it's not nearly as gaudy as I'd have expected. I kinda dig it

In other news, BMW screamed at me this morning, it demands monetary sacrifice, so I guess I'm putting new brakes on it this week. Also credit where it's due, the break pad wear sensor and the little squeaker both started doing their thing within two stops of each other.

Probably gonna be a couple days before my desk is set back up. Organizing the garage is priority #1 so I can get the daily out of the sun asap

Good deal, it'll give me more time to play different vehicles. I'm only just building my first bridge; didn't even know you could flip a Mule easily.

I hit the map menu while barreling downhill and bam, son of a bitch flipped

Welp, pretty sure my 3rz head is toast, 2 valves on exhaust are for sure beyond adjustment. I suspect when I had it gone through a few years ago to fix the one burnt valve they only fixed the one and just adjusted the rest because they have some really skinny shims in them already.

    options:
    - get a reman/new head, put it on a 260k mile bottom end
    - find an engine
    - part out
    - sell as is
    - some sort of motor swap that I definitely don’t have time or money for.

hmmm. It would be fun to find a wrecked Tesla…

Look for engines in the rusty midwest before you move. They are scarce in the desert where the trucks just keep driving.

Disconnected the solar panels on the air compressor, gonna see how long it goes till failure with everything turned on.

Thought about getting a fitted sheet or something to simulate cloud cover, but this works just as good ig.

need get some insulation in the battery box to try and keep a little bit of heat out of it, black was not a good choice.

Were they ever adjusted? Iirc it’s called for every 60k miles or so, but usually not needed until around 150-200k.

Black is good for the winter when it's super cold out there. What about like a canvas bag to throw over the top of it? Should help regulate temps

My truck said 100 degress and the temp in the box was 115, so not bad. I have a 12v RV bathroom on top to keep air moving at least. I figure a 1/2" or so sheet of insulation on the sides they get the most sun will help also.
I have a RV bathroom vent fan on it that turns on at whatever temp I set it too

@0xDEADBEEF I can't say anything positive or negative of this place, I'm only aware of its existence... but there's a local shop here that advertises new (aftermarket) and rebuilt Toyota engines: https://www.toyotatruckengine.com/about-us/

Looks like you can get legal services taken care of while you're picking up.

Judging by all the phone numbers on the windows, there's a few in the building.
