That's not how this works. You have to buy it and then get it running.

You have to act fast in those $500 trucks. Probably needed a fuel pump. Most people quit in vehicles for dumb reasons

True it is more affordable, but it's a cost on top of everything you are already paying. And then there are the unreliable breakdowns. All to to try and save a few bucks. That's why they call them beaters...

You are right, not everyone can afford a new-ish vehicle brother! I drove a piece of shit Toyota Hilux truck for my entire hitch in the Navy back in the 80's. That truck took me up and down the east coast for 10 years, and it was leaking some sort of fluid the entire time. As bad as it looked and as much as it leaked stuff, that 20R engine would not die! I sold it to some guy at my last duty station for something like $200 as-is! I bet that fucking thing is out there somewhere still running and still leaking.

So back to this now gone Ford Ranger; Again, assuming the crank shaft rotated, I would definitely take a shot at bring it back to life for $500. But I'm retired with nothing better to do and a ton of expendable cash. So I would do this for the fun, not the end product. :D
