So far, my repair quotes range from $ 10,000 to $ 17,000. A new liner in my sewer line is ruining all my truck plans.

If you are ok sticking with drum brakes and want to retain speed sensors I recently picked up a New Dynatrac Prorock 60, Semi Float, High Pinion, Eaton 4 pinion e-locker w/harness, 4.56 gears, wms-wms 69.6 (4" wider than stock 2nd gen), 35 spline axles built with oil installed. Tubes are same OD as the Tacoma but tube wall thickness is 0.313" No brackets, w/crate, tax and will call pick up I was just under $6300

Im going to need one of these at some point in my life, but until my rear end explodes spectacularly, im going to continue enjoying my current axle. Sucks though, because this seems like a pretty good deal.

I was looking at the ecgs Dana 60 with a +9" width, 4.88s and a trutrac locker. $5000 out the door shipped.

I checked that out as well and felt it was not up to the standard of the Dynatrac. If built out similar the price was similar and it was not clear weather it utilized wheel speed sensors. The web site also says nothing about the axle tubes. Dynatrac designs their own center section. Dana Spicer offers one as well (not sure on cost). Another benefit with Dynatrac for me is they are only two hours away and the sells rep was great to work with.

For those that want to go with a 9" based axle JD Fab has some preliminary design work done to use unit bearings, speed sensors and disk brakes. If interested Jesse needs to know.

Id pass on a Dana 60. Get a rear axle that has a 3rd member. Nothing like being able to repair blown gears on the workbench rather than underneath the truck.

For myself I wanted to stick with an e-locker otherwise I would have leaned towards a 9" based.

That is true. I do feel like that since it is one of the stronger axles out there, the chance that it would need repair it pretty low. So I can't say in discouraged by the sound of it

I did not know. Dynatrac is part of the Randy's World Wide family. I reached out to my sells rep, and he confirmed. The employees were notified about the same time as of the public announcement. It sounds as though most if not all of them located in Huntington Beach opted for severance and not the relocation compensation.
