I noted that both checkpoints are back at the same location as well as the event finishing there. It's actually a really cool thing to be around and see some of the cockpit like set ups these folks run. Multiple GPS units, radar detectors, FLIR, hydration systems so they can drink while riding. If you do choose to ride over, just keep in mind riders will be coming in dog tired and pressed for time so it's not so much they're stand offish as they're "on the clock" and need to be all business during the rally. Being there for the finish would be pretty cool to observe. I was at the start of the 2023 event the day prior to the start when folks were a little less stressed. It's a neat thing to experience.

Happy Father's Day to the fathers in here. Hope you all had a good weekend. Had a solid one myself at the track, Streets of Willow with the R3 and R6. quite toasty, 100 degree high on both days but a 20V misting fan helped immensely. Both bikes performed splendidly. I could have gotten bumped up to Advanced group on the second day according to one of the instructors, but I declined to since I was starting to get real fatigued, and the tires on both bikes have had a decent amount of track days on em. Knew I would push even harder being in advanced and didn't want to risk it.

Its kinda nutty just how fast supermotos can be around the technical stuff. There were quite a few this weekend I would be battling with on both the R6 and R3

Interesting, the S1K had linked brakes as well, but it only activated when using the front brakes. using the rear brake would not engage the front at all.

don't let the other guys bully you, I have never done it either. BMW had a countdown once the fuel light came on which I would always fill up once it hit about 15-20mi left, getting about 140-150/tank. R3 has a fuel gauge meter which i just fill when I'm down to the last bar. R6 has a trip meter that kicks in once the light comes on, counting up. I'll fill once that comes on. Ducati is the same, except the dumb fuel light comes on at half a tank, nowhere near empty. That took me a bit to figure out.

All I know is all my bikes past and present would go about 100-120mi before any indicator of low fuel (Ducati is more like 80), and I can reliably get around 120-130mi before starting to get concerned about filling up.

I ride in a fairly consistent manner, and pretty regular routes, so that's good enough knowledge for me. If I did more road trips/adventuring on my bikes, I'd be more inclined to know the exact mileage but for the past 4 years this has served me well and I've never run out of gas or been too pinched to find a station.

Going to ride up to Diablo lookout. That’s 115miles from me. Then can ride back to marblemount for fuel if I run out. I will have extra fuel with me. Thanks though!

We used to do Mt Baker at sunrise and then coast "race" down. It's...very different

That's awesome and good on you for knowing your limit! That is another sign you are an "advanced" rider!

I hate (and suck at) electrical stuff but the DRZ has had two different rear turn signals since I bought it and it has irked me from day one. It took me about 4 hours (some of that cause I get off into the weeds with cleaning as I'm working) BUT... I now have two matching lights that aren't hanging on by Gorilla tape. Yay! :bananadance:

You're smarter than me, I would have probably sent it in Advanced and crashed (which is what I did at Sonoma a few months ago).

I do have Laguna Seca coming up next Monday! Super excited.

My Elsinore has that too. So they've been using it since at least 1973. Crazy

Gf has been doing great so far riding into work. On her way home she has been riding by her self and making it home so gonna say she is doing alright lol.

There is a chance of rain today so gave her my old icon jacket that we got fixed (zipper ripped off) and put new orange pads in it. Just in case because of the rain.
