weak airflow from vents - caused by anything but blower motor?

This truck is new to me and the the air coming out of the vents is pretty weak compared to my last one. It gets adequately hot and cold enough, I just want there to be more air moving since summer is almost here and I really like to blast the AC. Is there anything besides replacing the blower motor I should be looking at to solve this issue?

Yes the blower could be weak, partially shorted or full of rust. The fan blades could be broken, it could have half a mouse nest in it or a soggy wad of leaves. Pull it down and look.

But there could also be a wiring issue that is preventing the blower from receiving full (12 v) power.. like a burned/melted connector or corrosion.

The blower resistor handles a lot of heat since so much current goes through it, they like to melt down and get crispy

Get down there and start looking around, gotta use your eyes

First thing is to check your cabin air filter. Who knows there may be a couple years of rodent nests and debris in there. Check that first. (Some people never inspect or replace them). If the filter is clogged up that will definitely impede air flow.

I have same problem with 98 Impreza
    No Cabin filter
    I thought fan motor too
I installed new motor and same air force as old fan motor

my GC8 always garaged so vermin not the issue
    my 01 Forester(same dash/fan/HVAC controls) blows harder

I have learned to live with it
But now thinking about the issue….
-I need to check voltage (as BRO stated) directly to motor….if that’s good only other reason without cabin filter….
-clean plastic air ducts throughout dashboard
Dust and debris clings to sides of plastic ducts/tubes, restricting air flow

I have seen these drill mounted duct cleaner brushes on a flexible line
(Same but way smaller than the home ac duct cleaners)
Looks like a plumbing ‘snake’ drain cleaner

    ugh
Guess I talked myself into another project

Couple of things, take the blower motor out and fell up to the evaporator, could be plugged with leaves, mouse leavings etc. The next this is where the ducts slide into each other. The factory has a foam seal that surrounds all the connections, those disappered 15 years ago.

I cleaned mine a while back. Fins had quite a bit of dust and dirt. Well worth the effort and blow the drain tube out on the AC while you are at it No cabin filter on mine. FWIW, I wish it would blow less on lowest setting.

    awesome fix!

So vid explained but didn’t show crap

you dropped the lwr section of evap box?
    Like at an angle?

PiTA to get entire bottom cover off?
Just as long as bottom partially dropped, that gives u enough access to clean/vacuum?

    thanks
