The QC delays have been a regular Toyota occurrence with Tacomas for at least a couple years now. Maybe it is just their QC process although last year i think a QC or hold was related to seat belts. Mine was delayed last May for at least 2 weeks due to ‘QC hold’ that was unrelated to the seatbelt issue.

It's all perspective, like ships over the horizon until you pull out a Nikon 1000. LOL !

    Hey nice truck! Here's my 2025 AT4. That's a stock 2024(?) TRD Pro.

Coming from my 2013 TRD Sport, it's a nice upgrade :)

I threw in the towel on my '24 GMC AT4, the MPG, Ride, and electronic headaches were too much. Only had the '25 Taco for 2 months but none of those issues are in the Taco.

It’s a real shame GM products aren’t rock solid. I like the look of the Canyon and Colorado, but there’s not a chance in hell I’d buy one.

The Colorado is the best looking mid-size truck on the market and it's not even close, but yeah, this. I also wanted a manual (thank goodness,) or I might have been swayed.

I was gravitating to a regular cab Sierra base model with the old dashboard, its still a GM product but has the least amount of electrical components you can get in GM truck. I like the same approach when it comes to Toyota less tech more piece of mind.

What specific electrical issues did ypu encounter with the AT4? I see a lot of base Colorados on the road I wonder if they face the same issues? Not having a headlight switch is definitely a design flaw and enough to say, hay Mar, what are you doing?

I've driven many GM and Ford trucks and SUV's over the last few decades for work vehicles and none of them was really a "problem" or "lemon". Not saying they were problem free...but none of them required a new engine or transmission for instance.

That being said, these were all 6 years old or newer and none got more than about 130,000 miles on them.

I think if you're looking to keep a truck for 5 years or less and 100,000 miles or less they are a pretty solid choice.

My wife will be selling my 2012 Tacoma (regular cab, base, 5 speed) shortly after my funeral. Fingers crossed, that's a ways out yet.

It was annoying things like the radio would connect about 1 in 10 times, I would have to connect it almost every time I got in to drive, dealer said I needed to re-connect my phone to fix but after 20+ times of removing and re-connecting I gave up. Radio would also just stop working all together, needed to do a radio reset almost monthly. Mine wasn't a Colorado but a HD AT4 and for $80k it wasn't worth it to me.

$80k for a midsize truck? That isn't worth it if everything works. I think that's why the base Colorado is popular in this segment it's more affordable. For what the AT4 costs I think a GX would make more sense even if it was still another 20-40k. If I'm paying that much for a midsize pick up or SUV, chances are I can also afford a cheaper pick up if I still need a truck.
