Took all of the old turbo kit off last night, will modify it to have better crossover fitment and fix the couple of cracks that resulted from that tight fitment, should clean up very nicely for the next person.... But who will that person be?

I have been eyeballing a new turbo so I am considering selling this WHOLE kit now. That means it would come with the manifolds, the intercooler (no pump or heat exchanger, you'll have to find those for your build), the turbo (genuine Garrett 60-1 with Stg 5 turbine wheel), the intake piping too. The only things you'd need to provide are a wastegate, blowoff valve, intercooler pump, and a heat exchanger that fits your truck. For the right price I can rustle up a blowoff and wastegate, a new blowoff that fits the intake from Summit is $70 and I think I have a Precision wastegate I could be parted from as well on the shelf somewhere.

So... anyone interested? Say $2200 with the turbo and piping shipped in the lower 48? $2500 with a new blowoff and a lightly used Precision wastegate (gate is worth $250 I'd basically toss in the blowoff free at this price).

    Sweet deal there.

    What turbo are you eyeing?

Also you're changing your IC setup?

Looking at the Garrett GBC G35-700, newer technology but still a journal bearing turbo.

We are working on a prototype of an intercooler integrated into the top intake plenum so everything could be more contained.

Interesting. Not worried about heat soak right there? Or clearance especially with your older style hood?

Still going to be water to air so no major heat soak to worry about, and we are designing it as a replacement for the top plenum piece, drop in, fits like stock type of deal. If you have an electric fan like I do you also draw a ton more air through the AC, radiator, and IC heat exchanger, so heat soak risk is mitigated even more.

I'm not in the shop where I can show you the mockup parts yet. We've been in contact with Bell intercoolers and they're recommending a core to weld into the manifold for us.

Going to be something like this but obviously for the 5VZ, I have no idea what this actual manifold I'm showing the picture of fits it's just going to be this type of design.

Definitely a good deal for whoever gets that setup. That's pretty close to what I payed for the CX kit and still needed to piece together a bunch of stuff.

Very interested to see how this kit your building comes out

Hopefully someone wants it, otherwise I'll have to hang it on the wall or something.

In other news, got lucky on Marketplace yesterday and found a pair of the real mccoy Truck-Lite 27450C headlights for $100 (Almost $300 for a pair usually). Pretty stoked on those, nice to have a defined cutoff and extra brightness

I hope there's no light scatter on those. What color is the light? 6K kelvin?

Don't you LED headlight police me, I invented headlight inquisitions!

In all seriousness, the beam is cutoff very accurate and they aimed nicely. Way less scatter than the regular Sylvania sealed beams I had. Truck-Lite is a real brand with a real reputation for quality to uphold, not a fly by night jungle site generic.

    Lol. I hope so.

Though I haven't driven at night just yet, I am doing better with some of these obnoxious headlights with my new eyes.

In the past, when I've driven vehicles with high kelvin headlights, I've found they don't work very well in inclement weather. In particular, dark, wet roads.

They're definitely straight white, not warm, not blue cool, somewhere in the 5500-6000k zone. I had the knockoffs of these on my grey truck, they worked pretty well too, these aimed easier though, they were almost the same hot spot location as my halogens which were aimed a bit low

My headlights are garbage but the amber SS3 Fog lights are great. I wish they had a dimmer setting for using on the Hwy without feeling obnoxious

Ah gotcha I see. Cool. That'll be super clean

My Amazon knock offs have actually been decent other than the ice build up.

Rock broke a lens though this winter. So might do something different.

shit if i could id take it. Just cant right now.

Hilariously 3x5 LED lights have a major advantage over what the later years had. The black plastic piece that splits the lens in half is the cut off. There are two elements one on top and one on bottom. Bottom one for low beams top for upper beams.

They aren't just an led bulb slapped in a stock housing.
