Static is a press operators enemy. Static and ghosting.
We have antistatic spray and a static eliminator bar on the feeder. Neither work that great.

Had to show the new guy some old tricks.
Copper tinsel draped across the load and grounded.

Wait, I thought you only had web presses!
Btw, our static control system is unique. Our next door neighbor is a rug cleaning company. No static here!

There's plenty of static on the delivery end of the web. An inline silicone applicator and a few static eliminator bars take care of it.

Static is mainly a problem on Monday because our maint guy thinks he's saving money by turning the A/C off on weekends.

Oh, no sir. I'm predominantly web but am also fluent in sheetfed and wide format digital.

I'm currently working at a place that makes fancy airplane parts. Apparently static can cause big problems here. They have special flooring that is conductive and grounded at multiple points, and they have humidifiers hanging from the ceiling that spray mist into the air periodically. It's definitely an interesting environment.

This place use to have humidifiers that would mist into the pressroom, when the boiler system was operating.
It's difficult to get it through to them how bad the fluctuation in climate conditions affect the paper and press conditions.

I use the example of..."Take a 1/4" pc of plywood and let it sit out in the pouring rain....then let the sun cook it"...
That pc of plywood will look like it came from Menards lumberyard. lol

I decided on neither of the reels I was looking at and am going with this Shimano from Scheels.
    https://www.scheels.com/p/02225526920/

This means I will be going out to the mall today....good thing the truck is all washed and all my gear is on...
Now I'll just have to find a good place to park.
@Pixeltim do you have any advice? Any do's or don'ts? Parking lot etiquette I should be aware of....

Looks like a quality reel. My older Shimano stuff has performed admirably for a long time with very little maintenance.

Will it be an all-around kind of setup or are you targeting a specific species? I recently got that 7'6" ACC Crappie Stix rod and I love it for trout and pulled in some fun small mouths with it. High quality, perfect sensitivity. Ironically I haven't landed a crappie with it yet.

It'll be an all arounder. (bass, walleye, northern, musky). I have separate rigs for trout and catfish.
My old reel is a 2000 and it suited me well for 30yrs.
Struggles some on the bigger Northern and musky which makes me wonder if I should get a 3000 and use 10# line instead of 8#.....I hook on to plenty of Northern but generally only land the smaller ones due to the 8# not holding up.
Biggest I landed on 8# was a 36" musky. That was sort of luck because right as he got to shore, he barrel rolled and snapped the line but I grabbed the f×@$×÷ before he got away.

I hardly use less than 10-15# braid for anything. Usually with a 20# or higher fluorocarbon leader.

Do you use fluorocarbon leaders, generally?

I've really only used leaders ice fishing, where catching Northern was imminent.
I'm not out intentionally fishing Northern and Musky but where there's Bass and Walleye, there's Northern.

Northerns are funny. I used to fish a lake in Waukesha County for Northern years ago, and hardly caught any. I started bass fishing the same Lake years later, and sometimes got more Northerns than bass throwing bass jigs. I eventually learned that Northerns are a lot less likely to eat a large Texas rigged worm than they are a jig.:D
