FWIW, that's a big ''MEH" from them, it is VERY obvious very serious detonation was occurring when it went south. If they couldn't figure that out from the melted metal on the piston, they have no business being in the ''tuning'' world.

This had NOTHING to do with valves in any way. Improper timing and incorrect fuel/air mixture were the culprits.

If they found you a $1600 new block I'd take them up on it. I suspect they have changed the tune perimeters since yours was done to add more fuel and retard the timing some.

Yeah, for sure. Cut all future liabilities. But I agree if they can hook me up with a block for that price new it really does help out my situation...I'm entitled to nothing due to what was signed but, I do appreciate the owner over there working with me. Shows a lot about his character.

I took this one on the chin, but he's going out of his way to not completely turn his head the other way.

That was obvious from his posted data logging.
Not sure what tune he had at the time, but it was lean on both banks

I think you exceeded that boost number. Your original tune limited you to what 5500- 6k rpm and your pro charger doesn't bleed off pressure. It should have an idea about the pressure at 7k to 7.5k

Yeah, I was able to hit like 8 maybe a little over 8 psi. Lol probably wayyyy to much and I know that now. I never want to see those kind of numbers again.

The wires pulled out of the connector for the sensor connector that's in the heater bypass. Does anyone know what a part number would be for a pigtail connector that I can solder back into the wire harness? Not sure what this sensor does unless its a secondary thermostat sensor.

2psi is too much if the tune is trash.

I have torn apart a many Toyota engines and it's a common occurrence to see some vertical lines on the liners. The oil rings get gunked up and starve flow. Most higher mileage examples are retired due to piston slap/ovalized cylinders, loss of compression due to accelerated ring wear. That said the liners are machinable to an extent regardless of what the manual says, just not that much. Based on his video I think this could probably just be honed and recovered if it measured out within spec. The 1GR I just rebuilt was absolutely filthy inside , some of of the most varnish and buildup I've ever seen. The cylinders were still in good shape and the bearings looked brand new. I still ended up boring over (.5mm) just to clean things up, but I can confirm custom pistons are not cheap.

Ive taken many fords apart & ford is all about saving pennies when it comes to warranty repairs..
Vertical scoring is a geen light to atleast replace the entire bottom end...
Its usually on the major thrust side of the piston, 3:00 interior position...

the OP's is so bad, its everywhere on every cylinder.....

If you close your eyes to it, its guaranteed oil consumption...

Coolant temp sensor. Should be Toyota 90980-12416 or Sumitomo connector 6189-1161. Please verify that, I only looked quickly. Pins and seal will be offered along with it through various vendors, or you might find a pigtail version.

Thank you! ill order one and see if it works. I'm assuming polarity does not matter with this sensor?

Just completed this test with 120psi and water on all the valves. No bubbles at all.

Yotawerx stopped emailing me after saying they can source me a block for 1590$, anyone have any hookups for a new shortblock? If not, I'll have to just get a new one for 3500.

That sucks. Its very possible they didn't want their gesture to be public knowledge/to be seen on this forum. Sure, it could make them look good, but could also make them look bad too. The nice gesture could insinuate they're helping out of guilt. Or it could truly just be a nice gesture and now everyone with problems expects the same deal in return. Or maybe they're just having to jump through hoops to make it happen, and they won't have an update for you until they lock it in.

Yeah, it's the owner of yotawerx that's making things right by assisting me with a connection he has. Its known and seen in this forum that i was an early tester. Them seeing my motor become damaged from their tester file is what being a tester is about. You fix the problems and push out a final tune thats safe and damage free. The public should know that if they help me out with a block its because I was willing to HELP THEM first. But communication went dark and ill be sure to have any community im involved in to use OTT over Yotawerx, I have all the records, data and photos to show other communities. Just looking for the best price out there now so that I can get back on the road.

Well this was the cheapest I could find online. About 3100 after shipping costs. Not sure on the difference between the short block and the cylinder block...I went with the short block.
