few guys have had to relocate the fuse box. It’s a bit of a pain but I have change the main battery/alternator wire that routes to the fuse box. May give you some more room.

    thank you.
oddly enough while all this and more is going on the looming fact of me not having a front driveshaft is begining to sink in. the angle is too steep for a normal driveshaft to fit. regular or double cardan. now my new "leave to the end" is the front driveshaft.
it can be fixed with a cut and turn of the c's but that is more than what i want to get into.

if anyone knows the stock location of where the booster get's its vacuum from please let me know. thanks

I'll loose the caster needed for steering if I go to shims new perch locations.

See picture of vacuum hose on TRD Sport, courtesy of Chris4x4. On yours, the port on the intake manifold has a rubber cap.

So I'm working under the truck and an old lady looks to see what I'm doing. Then she says
" Sunny you can't do that". So I said what? And she said " you can't install a u-joint on a yoke like that"
So I come out from under the truck. I see her walking down the sidewalk, then she turns towards me, take something out of her purse and throws it at me. And before I could say anything she turned around kept walking and said" that's what you should use not zip ties"
    Thanks Grandma.

Dana 300 CV Oak versus non-cv yolk. The CV yolk has to be used with a double cardan. You cannot put a u-joint u-bolt strap into the holes. It won't fit. The non CV yolk is more beef more clearance and the u-bolt kit for the u-joint fits good.

Someone before me J-B welded this power steering reservoir. Well it leaked pretty good. So took all the J-B weld off. Decided to weld it myself. Chasing pinholes that should be my new name. Anyway, it's all done. It's on the stock power steering bracket that came with the truck. It's all fun

It's a good story for the campfire. Thank you.

Well today I was back at it again. My steering will not steer. I know nothing seized. I know it's not the pump. I know there's no air in the system. I know it's not the steering box. So because of the truck being on an unregular surface in the driveway, my rough estimates of Castor is around 12°.. a really rough estimate I'm just guessing really. So I decided to order some caster shims pick up the pinion of it. Maybe it's going to help with the drive shaft angle also and I'll see if the steering actually steers. Just waiting on parts now.

Interesting. And it won’t steer with the wheels off or wheels on with all the weight?

wheels off the ground it will steer. (example) with the wheels on the ground if I turn to the right and the left side of the truck goes up right side goes down (could be vise versa I forget )and I hear "bang, bang" and i have to two hand it to keep it going to the right. same thing the other way. the bang bang is the leaf spring. I had someone try to steer while had my hand on the leaf springs the leaf springs are trying to separate sideways. my castor is messed up but also my shackle angle is too excessive. ( flat springs my be the cause). If i can reduce the castor and it steers with out lifting up the truck I'll leave it. fingers crossed.

I remember doing the alignment when the truck had ifs and the same thing was happening the truck would lift up on one side when turning. i don't know we'll see in a couple of days if the castor shims dose the trick.

That's pretty much what caster does - it lifts the tire slightly when steering, so gravity assists with centering the steering. The truck is still rolling on small street tires? The steering effort will go up proportionally with larger tires, because the "mechanical trail" increases when the hub is farther from the ground:

You have a hydro assist ram setup planned for installation at some point? :)

Thank you yes truck is on stock rollers for now Hydro assist ram not rally in the plan for now anyways.i have to reposition the leaf spring mount it's got too much angle. I don't know if that's doing anything not looking forward to that.
