Not really, i just try for the cheapest cost. From what i seen they are unbranded parts. Probably cost nothing but are marked up at a ridiculous price.

Had my supercharger rebuilt and love it, but is it supposed to sound like a diesel?

I am looking for a stock sized pulley for an mp62/TRD supercharger. The stock size is 2.37".

Anyone got an unused one laying around that you want to part with? Maybe a take-off when you changed to a 2.2' or a 2.1' pulley?

I have a 2002 Tacoma with a TRD supercharger, fully rebuilt by Jon Bond Performance and reinstalled in February (2023). Truck and parts in excellent condition, until... an undocumented person driving on a revoked license ran a stop sign right in front of me and the resulting broadside collision took out the front body parts and bent my front frame rails which rendered the truck unrepairable. So, I"m getting ready to pull the SC and supporting parts from the truck and put them up for sale. I spent about $1,600.00 total on the full rebuild the previous fall and the SC is nearly factory new. Less than 4,000 miles on the reinstalled SC. What would be a fair price for the complete kit in that condition?

Is it a black TRD/Magnuson(2nd gen) SC? Did the rebuild include replacement of the rotors and associated rotor bearings?

Yes, it is the black TRD/Magnuson (2nd gen) SC.

It was in good shape and working when it was removed for routine service and sent to Iowa. There was a several month backlog for the work to be done. Jon Bond is, in my opinion, the only shop to have this rebuild done. I asked them to perform everything they could see it needed to return it to "as new" condition, except for repainting the exterior, which was in good condition.

The rebuild parts installed included the Eaton rotor pack rebuild kit, E rotor pack kit (dual lip seals) bearings, bypass bearings set, butterfly plate and bolts, and ceramic rotor coating 7" rotors, and 700+ in labor time. The entire unit is disassembled, checked, repaired / parts replaced as needed, and reassembled.

The reference was to the other parts that are necessary for the installation - brackets, tensioner (new OEM TRD now with 4,000 miles), new SC belt (4,000 miles now), etc. It has all the parts needed to install and start using it. It also had a new pulley installed on the supercharger snout, and change of the oil in the snout. The butterfly on the exterior was also rebuilt.

Copy. I was wasn’t certain if you had auxiliary upgrades.

$2750 is a good price, by the way. I think it’ll sell pretty quickly. There’s a 3.4 supercharger page on Facebook that gets a lot of views. I’d post it there as well. Good luck!

Disassembled my supercharger today. It seemed to be making a little more noise than the one I had previously, but nothing terrible.
Bearings in the nosecone feel excellent. Rotors are in perfect condition with no wear whatsoever. Rear needle bearings still have grease in them. Would it be better to just leave it as is for now and rebuild later? Or is it best to replace everything to keep it in the excellent condition it's in?
Would the 3-10-9 date written on the rotor pack block be a previous rebuild or assembly date? The guy I bought it from claimed he'd had it since 2008 and and never rebuilt it, but that may not be the case. It's been about 120k with no rebuild.
Let me know what you think. Everything looks to be in excellent shape, I can't decide if throwing in new bearings is going to help anything or not.

If its making noise i would track where its coming from and fix it, a new rotor pack is very expensive and if your bearing is out it will tear up the rotor coating

Hello everyone, new here, but not new to this platform. Huge thanks in advance.

My 02 4Runner has about 275k miles on it. It was sold by the dealer with the TRD Supercharger to a single owner (older lady) from whom I purchased the truck. I purchased the vehicle with about 210k. At the time, there was no known service to the SC, so I changed the SC oil at that time. I've also replaced the plugs and wires with the IK22 plugs. I've experienced the HG/Low RPM Pinging for a while as others have noted (Not sure if this was happening before my ownership). As the SC came from the dealer, it's only seen Premium fuel in its lifetime.

I'm due for a timing belt change. While I'm there, I'm going to be doing the valve cover job and rebuilding my SC (While it sounds ok, I'd like to take the time to put in some new bearings and refill the oil again). I'm considering adding the 7th injector upgrade at this time also. I have a few questions related to this job:
    1. I know it's probably hard to say, but do you feel the 7th injector is worth doing to a 275k 5VZ-FE? Just worried about what/if any, damage has already happened and if the $1200 is still worthwhile. Are there other options to consider short of the 7th injector in my scenario?
    2. Because of the HG/Low RPM I'm having, what should I consider going besides the 7th injector while I'm in here? I've read about Carbon issues (possible with my 275k?), Injector Problems, etc. What other work should I do while it's all open? Pull injectors for cleaning? Change Injectors?
    3. Is there any advantage to doing the 7th injector upgrade at the same time, or should I just perform this at a later date? Possibly just more room to run the wiring and fuel connections.

If you're worried about damage from pinging boroscope the cylinders.

Depends on how much you want to spend.
Cheapest will be the 7th injector.
After that you're looking at a larger fuel pump and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to cheat the ecu into giving it more fuel.

Or you could go full stand alone with larger injectors.

A new larger fuel pump probably isn't a bad idea anyway. As it will make sure the current setup is getting enough fuel. Yes i understand this low rpm issue.

Do you have an air fuel ratio gauge? This would at least give you a better idea of whats going on.

Thanks for the quick reply. Good idea on the Borescope! I'll definitely do that just to see what is going on.

Assuming with a URD 7th Injector kit, the included Fuel Pump would be enough for your pump concerns? I don't have an A/F gauge. Assuming a Bi-directional ODB2 scan tool could get me this info also?

Not super familiar with whats in the 7th kit for your gen of truck, but as long as its 250l/h it should be fine for an otherwise stock 3.4l.

Maybe a bi-directional scan tool would work. It would really depend what it can read. (How expensive a scan tool it is.) A wideband AFR gauge is cheapish easyish insurance to make sure your engine isn't running dangerously lean. It will need to be installed pre cat if you choose to install one.

You will need a separate wide band O2 sensor to see AFR info. The ODBII system will only have narrow band data.
