Two audio file formats listed below.

I've had the truck to two reputable shops and although both heard the noise, they don't know where it's coming from or where to start to fix it. The last shop thought maybe it was coming from either the intake or exhaust. It's been a couple years now and it seems like it's very gradually becoming more and more common.

To me, it sounds like a cross between a bird and a bottle rocket. I hear it while maintaining speed anywhere from 25-45 mph. It's difficult but not impossible to hear with the windows up. I cannot specifically duplicate it, but it happens on most drives, sometimes continually. Once the whistling noise begins, if I let off on the accelerator the noise gets cut short. Thats the only control I’ve found so far.

If you have any idea where to start looking I'd appreciate it.

You can’t hear it with the windows up?

I don’t often notice it with the windows up, but it is still possible to hear it, yes, if you’re listening for it.

My 2018 automatic does the same thing and has from days one. I am at 80K miles and have done all the maintenance, diffs, trans and such. I have not had any issues. I think you are okay.

Not that I’ve noticed. The windows are up more in the winter, which makes it harder to track, but I haven’t heard an obvious change.

Sort of sounds AC related. Try hitting the ac off button as soon as you hear the noise.

Thanks for the reply. I don’t use the AC very often so it definitely happens with AC off. I can try to see if there are any differences with it on.

Could it be the holes in the lower control arms? Try covering them with something like duct tape?

I’ve seen those posts and listened to the clips, but it doesn’t seem to be the same thing. I’ll still try covering them just in case.
