The Pioneer works well. I looked at other options, but decided on the Pioneer as the mounting holes match.

If it were to upgrade to a similar dual channel sub like the RF p3ds2. No harm would be done since it’s a 2 ohm correct? My taco has the jbl system. I’m curious in how it would sound with the upgraded HU. If it dosent sound how I like, which I’m sure it will sound better than the current blown sub, I’ll either attach a mono amp or return it.

pioneer may not be in the looks for me.

The RF sub you mentioned has great reviews on every site I had looked at when I was shopping for a replacement sub. The Pioneer has great reviews as well. I pnly went with the Pioneer as the mounting holes line up.

Yeah definitely thinking of the pioneer now I’ll keep thinking. They are both great subs, I guess drilling holes for the RF would make the pioneer the better one. Thanks for the advice. Do you have a link or the specific pioneer you chose?

How did you wire your sub? Do you have the jbl sound system in ur taco?

would it be safe to wife the voice coils to become 4 ohm? Specifically, connecting a jumper wire from voice coil #1 - to voice coil #2 +. And then connecting the sub wires to the other voice coils? Thus making a series connection. Asking this because the Rockford Fosgate sub is dual 2 ohm and the amp would support a 4ohm series connection better right?

I've got a 2022 premium OR. I just want to upgrade my speakers. I find my volume is set to max and I still long for more. What do you recommend?

The JBL sub is dual 2 ohm. The Pioneer I replaced it with is dual 2 ohm. I wouldn't attempt to try to put a different load on the amp.

the problem is that it's not just a speaker problem. this is similar to blaming the tires in a 400hp car for not hitting a 6 second quarter mile. the tires(speakers in this case) are absolutely part of your issue, but you also need the power to use them, something the stock head unit can't do.

you really need to be looking at something like the kicker key amp, and a speaker upgrade.
