    Does that include frame rot?

My dad bought my 2010 Tacoma new in September 2009, a month after I got my learner’s permit. I finally got my driver’s license in May 2011, taking it in my Tacoma! In December 2016, my dad signed over the title and gave me the truck, no questions asked.

In 2017, they first issued a frame recall and my truck got the “rhino snot” treatment. In September 2021, a week before the recall period would have expired, they found a hole in the frame. In November 2021, at 140K miles, my truck got a new frame.

My dad was in the Navy for 25 years, and we lived in five different places. Three of those five places (Northern California, Washington state, and Virginia Beach) have mild to nonexistent winters and thus no salted roads. I never dreamt I’d own a vehicle that would get an entire new frame FOR FREE!

Though I've been in MA all my life (except one year in NY) and therefore have been in those conditions all that time, I still never thought of a new free frame either. Wife's 96 was bought back in 2008..which is the reason I looked to Toyota ultimately.

As Charlie can attest mine had at least 2 good sized holes, pretty sure bigger than his frame had, which I found about 5-6 months before the 12 yrs ran up. Mine was taken immediately though, called the dealer that day I found it and brought it in the next day.

Doug that thing still looks brand new on the inside. I dont see any reason why you wouldn't get asking price. That thing is clean.

Morning Pa. Day off moving FIL's belongings out of his apartment. We moved him to a long term care facility a few weeks ago. He turns 80 next month. Life pushes us through new doors regardless if we are ready or not... Have a good Friday all.

Understandable if i had 9k laying around I'd use that as a daily. Unfortunately I'm broke. Actually to think of it I think I'm broker than broke. Hopefully the new job changes that outcome.

I’ve never had an issue with it. You’ll always get die hard JD fanboys complaining but don’t let that steer you away. People complain about dumber shit online all the time, take it with a grain of salt. Best thing to do is to test drive one and not just for a drive, maybe rent one for the weekend and use it for a few hours. There are mods you can do to make it more comfortable, for example
    https://youtu.be/CEpOXFwh7u0

I find the treadle peddle more intuitive, I was used to my dad’s old 210C shuttle shift which is more like a driving a car. The idea of two gas pedals next to each other is not my cup of tea, I’ve heard people not used to that push the wrong one and go boom if working in close spots. I might be biased but when I was shopping I found I could get a B series kubota for the same cost of a 1 series JD, much more tractor for the money. The 1 series JD is more on the lines of a BX size. Micro compact I think they call them?

The engine for the JD is a yanmar anyway as far as I know. Look into a Kioti as well I heard they are good machines for the money.
