Front / back dash cam came in today. Went right to work on installing it. Sweating balls in the garage, but it got done.

If it’s doable I install everything the second it arrives.

My lowering pegs are the only delay because I need to cut a fastener or they would be done by now.

Really enjoying the bigger bike, my dual sport is more fun but a pain to get it to the trails. The Honda I can just rip into the prairies, go for a walk, then pickup groceries.

The real answer is more bikes.

Yeah can’t complain, choices are what they are. I could be sour, but just try to make best of things that aren’t great which isn’t much. I’m a basic individual, doesn’t take much.

Eh no fun, I’ve considered a basic jacket like that to have patches from my military exploits added to. Not sure how it would look.

Survived what was probably one of, if not THE, scariest rides of my life yesterday. Bought the Street Triple with the idea of doing some longer rides on it. For me, that would be anything over a couple of hours or 150+ miles. Had the idea to take Corridor H (stunning vistas!) from Wardensville WVa to Moorefield, head south about 30 miles and then go back over the mountain towards Harrisonburg. That section is known among moto heads for it's super twisty sections. All told, about 3.5 - 4 hours and 200 miles. With thunderstorms predicted at 5-ish, I headed out at 11, thinking that would plenty of a time buffer.

Beautiful day, beautiful scenery (sorry, no pics!) until I started up the mountain. Took a short break, exploring a side road to a Nat'l Forest shooting range that I'd never heard of. Noticed increased cloudiness, so I hustled back to the main road, emerging into some serious dark clouds and the beginning storm. Clear skies the way I planned on going, dark and stormy back the way I had come, I still was not sure whether to chance going up and down a twisty mountain road I'd never been on before. Decided to stick with my plan which was the exactly wrong choice. Rain started hitting hard but the bike was handling wonderfully and I was keeping my eye on the clear sky ahead of me (and praying a bit). Just over the crest, I got ahead of the rain but... had to wait in a line of stopped cars for... road work. For 5 minutes, I sat there, trying to not freak out while I watched the clouds make their way towards me. When we finally started to move, we made it down the mountain and the deluge began. I had my tinted visor on, it was dark, we were under trees, and it was a torrential downpour. There was no where to pull over (not that I could see far enough ahead to do so, even if I had wanted to) and I was literally navigating by the tail lights of the truck in front of me. I was scared... like, I had to tell myself to take deep breaths scared. Made it into town and parked under a gas station awning. Wind was blowing so hard, it made no difference, but was able to wait inside until the rain lessened. By this time, I was starting to shiver from the temp drop, being completely soaked, the gas station being chilly, and figured I was going to be wet and miserable regardless, so might as well be that way while getting closer to home. Shivering and teeth chattering most of ride back, I believe I had a bit of hypothermia going on in mid-June. Crazy!

Hilarious irony: The ride back, I could see the other side of the mountain, i.e. the original way I had come, and... mostly clear, but I was not up to chancing going back up and over...

Oh it is but it's for a bike that is already mine based on an agreement with a friend. They are just sorting the title out because it was titled as an MC from the dealer and I don't want to lose that designation so I can still have it legally registered in NJ. It's a 2023 TE300i that is pretty well setup.

i risked it riding in today:anonymous:
as long as you are living the best life thats all anyone can do ya know!
sports ball wahooo sports uhh ya thats all i got lmao
ive been told and also read that bilt is a really shitty brand... that they dont hold up well in accidents at all, they just shred from what ive heard and read.
to be fair my first heeler bella was a pure blooded heeler and she was taller and a bit heavier then a usual heeler. but for astra a mix for sure we have looked it up and atm are 90% sure its a heeler Shepard mix.

also what can i say i like stubborn dogs lol. to be fair thou eevee is the most easy going heeler ive had when it comes to following orders. now dont get me wrong she is a fur ball of chaos but if you tell her to stop or to get her butt over here she stops what she is doing and comes right to me. astra is already starting to perk up and look at us when calling her name so hopefully she is a bit more simple lol. also tbh i wanted 3 heelers but the gf said no only two lol. we do still have our old girl lilly who is a stubborn af mutt she is also a bit of an asshole but she can be sweet.
