He said in post #24 it was knocking when he went to pick up the truck from his son.

Something went wrong before the plug change.

Still curious to see what the new plug(s) looks like when he pulls them out.
See if the new one is bent too. Plus, know if we have loose bits in a cylinder....

Everything beyond what we know is speculation at this point until we have more information.

We know we have 2 cylinders misfiring and there's a mechanical knock that's definitely not normal plus a smashed spark plug.

The most obvious first place to look is in the cylinder that had the smashed plug.

    Who knows.
    I wont comment on that.....

Lord knows, I have been accused of things I didn't do.
So I don't speculate on that kind of stuff.

Fact is, The engine is "hurt".
And the curious guy I am, I want to what "broke".

On a whole different note, I will admit.
I might know a guy that missed a 3-4 shift, and went 3-2.
    Sent a b16a2 beyond 9,000 rpm.....

    Engine survived, ego died.......

Yeah..I should'nt be speculating at this point..It just reminded me about when I was in an S2000 with a guy,he over revved it..floated the valves and bent one that broke off in the Cylinder..It was ruined.

Yeah. When he called me from the freeway he stated it went to a limp mode and was making noise. When I got thwre to tow him home, I started it and listened to it.

I get he's 19. He goes to the lake. Does some playing in the mud when it rains. (Hasn't rained here in months) never had any issue before or after last oil change.

Ill pull plugs and do some coil swapping this evening when its not 117 and sun beating down on me.

I think when you find out what's making the noise you've found the problem..coils or plugs isn't going to fix that.

With the noise it’s making, I try not to start it any more than necessary.
It will only make things worse…….

Let us know on the platform plugs. (What they look like)
No hurry at this point, the fix is likely going to take a long time.
What’s a week, if you have another vehicle to drive.

All I can say is, I feel for you man.
    Sorry….

I don’t think coil swapping is priority right now.

    Me too kind of.

But he said it was 117' degrees out. And working in the sun.
Not me, not if I have another vehicle to drive. It can sit there until it cools off, or I find cover to work under.
