I hope you guys can help..

I have a airbag light on my dash that I need to take off but I just found out it’s because I have a short.. I took it to Toyota this morning and they said I am missing a short pin in the connection plug (it’s a yellow looking block apparently) the short is in the drivers side back seat pillar,

Can someone help me find this piece online ? I don’t know what to look for AT all…..& if I buy it from Toyota it’s $500 because they can only sell the whole harness plus $1500 to put this thing on!

    thanks,

A missing short pin in a SRS connector shouldn't affect it's operation when plugged in, the short pins are there for safety, when an SRS component is unplugged they short the terminals to prevent an accidental deployment from static or other stray voltage.

Now if the yellow connector lock part is missing that could allow the short pins to keep the circuit shorted.

No dealer and most shops will not repair SRS wiring/connectors due to liability since it's a critical and sensitive safety component and manufacturers generally forbid repair or SRS wiring.

I wouldn't be afraid of properly repairing it on my own vehicle but not on a customer vehicle.

Your best bet is probably trying to find a salvage truck to rob a connector off of.

It should. Are you missing the yellow part of the connector?
