Thanks, I’m off to the DMV now to get tags. Dam that is some low mileage, I’ve looked everywhere for them and the low mileage ones are very hard to find,

I’m thinking $21500 was a pretty fair price for both me and the seller. I like a good deal on both sides if that makes sense.

Safeway is a 1/4 mile from my house… I saw 7 Tacomas on the way. Weird how you never notice vehicles until you own one, these things seem to be everywhere.

wondering if tailgate theft is a thing, I’ve already watched YouTube videos, apparently with a cheap $3 part you can lock them down? My cover is lockable, but I’m not sure that’s enough to prevent theft.

Also noticed a lot of the grey trim (plastic) is a bit faded. Any restoration tips would be greatly appreciated!

I am pretty sure I have the pop & Lock tail gate handle. It locks with ignition key. . .you should look into that. ..

I did the same, but went with all black, front and rear seats and I was surprised it came with a console cover as well.

where are you talking? The rear bumper under the license plate and some lower black plastic under the front bumper are the only non-painted pieces I can think of.

    • This common cognitive phenomenon is called the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon or frequency illusion.

Just go to a hardware store and buy a hose clamp, wrap it around the tailgate hinge, tighten it with a flat head screwdriver and then fill in the head (where the screwdriver fit into) with superglue or JB Weld. I just installed mine today so I haven’t done the last part yet.

Yep, the lower plastic around the license plate and the side/top area of the bed have slightly faded plastic. I guess I could use armour all or tire dressing to darken them up, maybe it’s more trouble then it’s worth though. Just thought I’d ask.

I think there’s a recommended product by 303 brand. I’ve never used them.

Nice! Very cool that you know of this and have the terminology nailed down.. I’m in badger-meinhof mode now with massive frequency illusion.. perfect ! Apparently Tacomas are taking over the world.. weird that I’ve never noticed till now…
