Is it low or something else

    2006 tacoma 2.7 4 cylinder
Noticed anit freeze was super low almost dry in over flow container
    Filled it to full
Drove it for 50 miles and checked it again and seen it was low. Truck has 250k miles
    I don't see any leaks

    Any help???

Was it just super low? I never check it for like a year.
Am I running the truck too hard lol

Let the truck cool off and see what the level is inside the radiator.
Check back with us.....Let us know.

It can be normal for the reservoir to get low after many years. (3-4 years).
But it doesn't typically need to be topped off a second time.

    Again, check the radiator.

When you drive the level should rise….not drop. Check the radiator

If the coolant level is steadily dropping and you really cant see any external leaks then a headgasket is suspect.

No signs of pink coolant crust anywhere?

With the engine cold remove the radiator cap and see, it should be level full. Do not remove the cap with the engine hot.

Don't touch or open the cap if it's hot. It's under pressure and you'll get 3rd degree burns.

Could be a head gasket as mentioned. If that's the case it's all blowing out the tail pipe.

It's called the coolant bypass pipe, it's below the power steering pump on the driver's side near where the radiator hose connects to the engine.
The stock one is plastic and likes to leak.
See the thread I linked above.

No. That wont cause it. Not unless you were in 3 gear doing 80 mph.....
And if you were, you'd have a low oil level. Not coolant.

It's not bad with the right tools, need to see if it's leaking first though.
