3:35 pm install that's pretty special, surprised he didn't quote the humidity or the barometric pressure...

I could stare at that aerator for hours. What's the scrap value for that?

    Looks like a great haul!

The Craftsman router was built between 1960-73 by the "Crown" logo.

Lots of nice parts and reusable steel though, for the right money (aka:cheap) I'd drag it home.

yeah, it might be a death trap, but i could also stare at the contraptions for hours as well. even better if the owner was there to walk me through it. i've got absolutely zero interest in owning, transporting, or even sitting on it, but it's a show piece... are those air tanks within the chassis?!?

as far as scrap value, i just took scrap in last weekend. 1100 pounds, $140/ton.

i "made"(not really, had expenses trying to fix both mowers that failed) $85 and some change. it's honestly barely worth the effort anymore other than for reasons to clean up one's property. i'm absolutely done wasting time even putting the effort into watching the garbage routes for scrap until the value goes much higher.

that machine would need to auction for less than $200 to be close to breaking even scrap-wise. and it's probably got at least $3k in raw steel costs into it, not to mention another 6-8 $50 11-pound welding wire spools into it... just cutting and welding all those tines had to take forever... if he has less than $10-15k into that entire build so far, i'd be floored.

Use cauls on the ends to minimize shifting and the flattening part will be easier

even the blue bobcat-looking thing looks like a death trap as well. even if they're solid steel(lol), i wouldn't trust those load arms attached to the lift cylinders for anything more than lifting a 5-gallon bucket of water...

if you're gonna copy a well-made reliable product, at least understand what/why they do things instead of just throwing individual 1.5" square tubes at the problem.

Hang in there; at least it’s still enroute. Not like me, the package was no where to be found when shipped with Fedex.

Yesterday was nice, started to get a bit muggy but there was no rain! Got some painting done, a dump run cleaning out crap previous owners left in the property we sold, and got both lawns cut. Made the best of the nice day as we could

Good morning everyone, I hope you have a pleasant Sunday :hattip:

Good score at the auction @six5crèéd  I’ve never been to one but might start looking into this summer :anonymous:

I don't plan on doing much after mowing. I need to clean out the PitBoss for tomorrows cook, that's about it. Need to wash the truck, but I'll do that early in the morning. The sun gets gnarly quickly in the front :annoyed:

So, I'm in the "planning" stages of debating doing something like a 16' x 24' garage in the backyard where the shed is. The amount of conflicting information I'm finding on heights, setbacks, lumber dimensions is making me even more confused. :goingcrazy:

Doing this all myself (except concrete pad), but something like this will unfortunately have to be permitted so the county will raise the ol' tax rate. I've just plum ran out of room!
