It does distribute a bit too as it sits but I wouldn't use it for bbq sauce personally. I use mine for marinating lickity split though. Holds it under vac for a while and it's just marinating in about 2 minutes instead of hours.

I need a new one, but I had the foodsaver square container. What I would do is to put my marinade in the container with my to be marinated and shake. I would pull a vacuum and shake, release, draw, release through 3-4 cycles and let sit for 15 minutes before releasing and using. Damn near as effective as a normal overnight marinade.

Yeah those work great too! I just say it since i can do both as a regular vacuum sealer too.

It takes up a ton of space and is loud and $$$$. But worth it i use it a ton.

With liquids i had put it in the bag, froze it, sealed it, thawed it and then froze it flat again. Multi step multi day process but it's doable for sure.

    I m
    yea. The whole egg.

easy. I used this vid. It works perfectly. The booze dip. No joke, I used cheap bourbon. It has to be high enough alcohol content to act as a disinfectant.

I used to routinely work in two man fly camps. Dropped off by heli, set up a 9x12 tent to live and work out of. Cooking on a coleman naptha 2 burner. We'd have two coolers, one of frozen meat, one of fruit and veggies. Meat would usually all be thawed in a couple of days. Grocery flight/camp move once a week. We'd dig the coolers into a snow bank or dig a pit for them and cover with sod. Eat the pork and chicken first and by the end of the week, if the steaks are looking green, dice them up and make curry.

I have a long term cooler. frozen stuff, block of dry ice wrapped in newsprint to help things along. another cooler frozen stuff, packed tight, frozen bottles of water. and a cooler with fresh stuff. we camp out 8 days fishing. we dont open the long term until short term is done and it becomes the short term.

the fresh stuff, we mow thru. Laotian dudes and they do raw veg wraps with grilled meats inside. it all goes fast.

it works okay. a Dometic would be a game changer.

So last night after work I went out and did a thing.

    upload_2025-7-1_9-31-40.jpg

My wife comes home and I tell her "You'll never guess what I got after work"

    I gave her a second

    "Yes that's right, duck eggs"

The guy I got the wood from couldn't break the 20$ for change so he had some extra, I was going to tell him to donate it whatever, but before he comes back with "You like eggs? I got chickens" - comes back with TWO DOZEN eggs, and says "By the way, I have ducks too, the 4 white ones are duck eggs".

So I was going to make a spinach mushroom goat cheese frittata next weekend sometime, now it'll be with duck eggs instead of egg whites.

    I repeat
