Fun fact, someone broke into my brothers truck. Reached over the ~$1500 in makita tools to steal the change out of the cup holder

Haha we get cat theft here too, at least in the city. You're actually the second person to suggest that. Wouldn't be hard to add!

If anyone can chime in here, struggling to get the HOWE TC pumps top bolt/bracket. The fitting keeps hitting on the oil coolers hard line. Cant missing about 1/4" of clockwise rotation to put the bolt in the top.

Loosened as much of the hardline brackets as i could but still no bueno.

I think I vaguely remember a while ago people talking about the bracket being a bit off, but don't quote me on that. @Airdog

I never had any issues. Not even sure what bracket is in the way. Sorry I’ve got nothing helpful.

Figured it out over time and headache. Had to remove the hard coolant lines (3rd gen) that snakes around the engine to the heat exchanger. Then redo rubber coolant lines instead. The pump wouldnt fit at all with the hardlines in there.

I'm guessing the 2nd gen trucks may not have these lines in the way. But it's all installed now, will eventually change the rack as the outter end seals are sweating a tiny bit. Drives amazing and crazy how quick and easy the steering feels for the 35s now.

Oh yeah sorry, if I'd seen this sooner... We have a bunch of coolant line for that exact purpose.

It's all good! Didn't want to bother you much over the weekend. I'm trying to deal with a bunch of CEL now.

    P0031 / P0051 / P0037 / P0057. Can't seem to figure out why it's popping up. Might be chasing a bad ground somewhere.

I know the pug/connector w/ground that was from the OE Pump can't go anywhere onto the new HOWE pump.
Accidentally pulled the pin out of the aoil pressure sensor connector from the oil cooler when i took the hardlines off. Rewired and its secured but i wonder if that's now throwing the codes.

Would be a weird fluke that all of a suddent all o2 sensors are kaput at once.

Anyone with the JD/Howe steering kit in a 3rd gen do anything about the low idle issue?

My kit is ready to go on in a few weeks, trying to get a handle on everything that needs done at once. My OTT tuner says he can get me a custom map that targets a higher idle so should be good there.

Just installed mine this past weekend, no giant issues. A few notes from the instal though.
    - coolant hardlines needs to be removed on 3rd gen and have new coolant lines rerouted to the oil cooler above the oil filter. 2x hose of 6ft is enough (trim to size).

    - the pump itself wont fit until that's removed^ the shims for the mount are a PAIN, but doable alone.

    - From everyone's build photos you can make out what fitting goes where but make sure you can scavenge as many photos as you can.

    - the ground from the OE pump needs to be regrounded as it'll otherwise set CEL for your o2 sensors . Found that the hardway.

    - take your time to gravity drain as much as you can. OE power steering cooler also gets deleted.

I have the OTT tune and found it idles fine, just above 500rpm, it comes alive super quick above 1,000rpm and really not hard to turn at all, honestly it's still taking me a little to adjust, almost feels like electric power steering how lite/floary the 35s are now. Feel like you need less steering input to turn as well. I'll be doing a few trails mid-July, looking forward to feel the difference while crawling.
