Buying this truck- you see anything wrong?

They still didnt provide pics up front just behind the control arms, exhaust, etc...

 

Probably already sold at that price if the frame was good. Honestly, the frame looked pretty dang nice.

I was looking for a ranger for my son, used car lot was few hours away...
it was an 2011 metallic blue extra cab with 30k miles, it looked immaculate...
Spoke to the manager on the phone, told him I wanted it but asked for cellphone pics of the paint..
Just wanted to make sure there was no smoke & mirrors, any can put lipstick on a pig..

He sent them, I agreed to buying...
He said he will put a sold sign on it & to just sit tight till a salesman call me.
I asked if he needed a deposit as dont want it sold after ubering up there a few hours away...

He said, "no, you have my word, just wait for my sales guy to call you"

About an 1.5 hours later he calls me & told me he sold it cuz you weren't here....

Needless to say, I gave him a well deserved earful...

 

I traded a 6 year old Chevy with a cam bearing going…they also did not put it on their lot

I understand that, but if the truck had been through a legitimate inspection and passed, it would give you a tiny bit of piece of mind that it wasn't a complete pile of poo. A one owner truck would still need to pass the inspection if it were being sold on a licensed MD car dealers lot.

 

I think in MD you only get inspected when you buy the vehicle, then never again.

Unlike in VA where we need a safety inspection every year

 

If the truck is from Maryland, did they tow a boat to salt water. That could explain rust on the hitch.
